Adalius Thomas and Eric Steinbach :D

Quote from a poster watching NFL Huddle today...

Was listening to ESPN's "The Huddle" today for a little bit. They were discussing a number of things, including where potential FA might sign.

I don't know his name, he's the co-host of the show with John Clayton and from the Cleveland area, but he said that the Browns will be trying to sign both Adalius Thomas and Steinbach.

He said that there are two main teams that are going to go after Adalius Thomas hard: San Fransisco and Cleveland. The reason he might go to SF is because they have the most cap space and his old coach Mike Nolan.

But he also said Adalius Thomas has a great relationship with Savage. According to him, Savage was a big part in Thomas' life since high school, and was responsible for the Ravens drafting him. Maybe Savage can do it again for us.

As far as Steinbach goes, he just said that Cleveland has been lying low, but as soon as FA starts, they are going to make a big push for him.

On a separate note, I know most of you want us to get that guard from SD, Dielman? He mentioned that Seattle has a huge man-crush on this guy, and are going to get him come-hell-or-high water, mainly to replace the loss from Hutchinson from last year. Guess they missed him. That would explain why the Browns would concentrate on Steinbach instead of Dielman?

If we could toss in a Nate Clements since he is supposed to be an easy signing for the Browns we'd be in a good position going into the draft...

Two stars from the best two teams in the division...the Bengals High Octane Offense and the Ravens smothering Defense...I like it..

Don't know why we would go after Thomas... I mean I do know why, but we have bigger needs than a OLB with Wimbley and McGinest... I'd undoubtedly welcome it, but I'm not sure how it would sit with McGinest... Plus, I'm sure he'll command high dollar and it'd be wise to spend it elsewhere...

Again, Steinbach would be nice but Dielman is the guy I really, really want... He's the guy who fits this offense the best and the one that will come cheaper, IMHO...

Either way I wouldn't be disappointed either way... I just hope we can fill some needs and don't overspend too much...

Anyone know when FA starts?

March 2nd,

Yeah but stealing the best team in the divisions top young player on defense would be awesome...McGinest doesn't have a future here anyway..this enables us to have enough talent/experience on the field to deal Chaun Matt and even Andra at some point and open up things for Williams and Jackson.

We'd not be wasting it...

If we landed Steinbach Thomas and potentially Clements I'd want the draft to look like this..

1. Peterson
2. Tank Tyler(DT)/Arron Sears(OL)
3. Whichever line wasn't addressed in round 2
4. Corner or DE
5. Whicher wasn't addressed in previous round...
6. bpa/project
7. bpa/project

I understand that... I'd rather let another team overspend on a 30yr old LB... No doubt he's a good player, but I doubt we'll be getting much more than a couple of years out of him...

I wouldn't doubt that... I wouldn't be surprised to see Phil or RAC keeping him here until he retires and mabe trying to hire him to their staff...

I'd love to see deadweight like Chaun and Matt get dealt... Neither of them have futures here and it'd be better to get something rather than nothing, later on..

Andra? Ehh, I'd like to keep him unless we get something pretty good in return...

We'd not be wasting it...

Speaking of FA targets:

Browns | Team interested in M. Tuiasosopo?

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns may target unrestricted free agent QB Marques Tuiasosopo (Raiders) in the offseason.

I'd pass on him.... I'd rather sign a veteran QB...

Willie has already retired imo, if you have a chance to sign a playmaker like Thomas you do it.

He needs to squash the interest in this guy..he can't start for Oakland...he SUCKS.

Thomas can take mcginest spot in a heart beat. Move willie to the inside where speed isnt as neccesary or just cut him.

Could you imagine having Thomas on one side and Wimbley on the other.
