It’s our blessing and curse. We have bigs that can switch around but they get bodied inside. After those Bulls and Knicks games it feels like we can be defeated the same way this playoffs.
They need TT to find a new performance enhancer that isn’t traceable.

2021 redraft. What's the top 3 order?

I don't think Wagner or Sengun have done enough to change the Barnes vs. Mobley duel for the top spot. The timing of the question begs for recency bias to take control of the conversation. I give both Wagner and Sengun credit for offensive improvement while Mobley has been dealing with injuries.

Barnes would be the clear #1right now. He has a clear offensive role and skillset, and has the ability to affect the game defensively as much as Mobley. I personally had Barnes and Mobley pretty much equal, with Mobley having the higher ceiling but more questions on if he was able to get there.

In retrospect it’s interesting to think how things might’ve changed if we drafted Barnes over Mobley. The Barnes, Lauri, Allen front court definitely would’ve changed how we approached move going forward. If you just drop a 3 & D SG in there, you’re pretty much set.

2021 redraft. What's the top 3 order?

1. Mobley
2. Scottie
3. Sengun
4. Franz
5. Jalen Green (coming on strong under Udoka after some early benchings)
6. Jalen Johnson
7. Trey Murphy
8. Kuminga
9. Cade
10. Giddey
11. Cam Thomas
12. Dayron Sharpe
13. Suggs

Is how my lottery would look based on BPA and highest ceiling today

Hoping for a 4th year resurgence for Mobley. This year has been disappointing due to injuries. But even when he came back healthy he still looks so uncoordinated on offense. How can someone move so smoothly switching on defense but looks so uncomfortable on offense? He might not have the talent/feel to be a scorer so I'm hoping he would work his butt off this offseason to becoming a better shooter.

He’s got to put in the hours and dedicate his life to basketball. I worry that he thinks he will be handed a max. He needs the right people around him daily.

Based on where they are right now (ignoring how the first two years went).
1. Barnes
2. Cade
3. Sengun
4. Franz
5. Johnson
6. Mobley
7. Giddy
8. Green
9. Murphy
10. Kuminga
11. Thomas
12. Sharp
13. Suggs

Mobley & Barnes were the most valuable over the first 2 years, but Mobley is essentially the same player as he was as a rookie. The guys ahead of him are much more advanced offensively in year 3. I still think he’s has a ton of ability and might end up one of the best in this class, but if he doesn’t develop some offense, he may get passed by a couple more.

Yet.....analytically Mobley by far the best player right now. Even his offense has shown progress if you actually look. I think his shot form is better, his handles were a bit more crisp. Your not paying attention because your bias shows. Inconsistency is pretty typical and the injuries this year have not allowed him to build consistency.

Analytics can be deceiving. The analytics show his offense has improved because he’s taking more shots from 0-3 feet than he ever has, and he’s taking the fewest in his career from 16ft+. His FG% is up because of that, while his avg shot distance has gone down every season.

Also, I believe 75% of his FG’s are assisted. He’s not using his “handles” to create shots. He’s mostly scoring on assisted baskets and on dunks and layups inside the restricted area.

No, he isn’t analytically the best player right now. Sengun, Barnes & Wagner are all ahead of him this year in overall measures like win share and vorp. Johnson isn’t far behind and his development arc is looking great. And Cade is asked to do so, so, so much more than Mobley is asked to do that comparing their stats makes little sense. Those were the 5 I had ahead of him. It has nothing to do with bias - I’m biased toward my own team and I’ve been historically about as high on Evan as anyone. It has everything to do with what we’ve actually seen on the court this year. These other guys have been better and/or appear to be in the process of surpassing him.
