Fallout 4

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The save game thing is a big deal. Im no expert but why the fuck can i not save wherever i want in console games. Is this not the year 2015?

I hear you gouri and i dont doubt anything youre saying. My pc is about 2 years old. Built it myself in 2013. Probably cant run a graphically demanding game at top notch graphica anymore but I use my pc primarily for schoolwork, and gaming wise stuff like Blizzard games ie Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft 2 which arent demanding at all, and the fantastic recently released Pillars of Eternity. I dont think i will be tempted to upgrade my pc anytime soon. Just isnt worth the money and time to me both of which are limited.

My xbox one was free too which helps. I dunno. Im not the hard core gaming nerd i used to be. I used to rail on console gamers nonstop from my pc throne of dominance. Now in the little time i have for games i play mostly xbox.

No idea what happened. Believe me, i know that pc will always be technically superior. Theyve been saying for two generations now that consoles will pass pc. Havent seen it yet.

If your PC is only two years old, you could probably just buy a new video card and be good to go for another year or two. My PC is going on three years old and I'm still running everything on the highest settings with good performance. The only thing I've changed in it is the video card. I upgraded to the GTX 970 earlier this year. The Witcher 3, Mad Max, and MGSV all ran just fine on max settings.

Shit, in running a CPU from 2009/10 with a 970 with the same results.

Yeah, as long as you have a good video card, a capable processor is all you really need. Beyond that, it's mostly just game optimization. Far Cry 4 ran like shit, but that's on the developer. No reason that game should have ran worse than Witcher 3 or MGSV, both of which looked a lot better and were similarly large (or much larger in Witcher's case).

I have no doubt I could, but I think I'd rather just use my $200 elsewhere, to be frank.

Sell the one and your games and then reinvest that cash back into your pc. Shoot, they are talking about even bringing halo back to PC. PC is back to being the King with just about every major console title seeing a release on PC.

PC getting the playstation and xbox exclusives would pretty funny (street fighter 5 and halo)

I've honestly thought about selling my PS4 because I haven't even booted it up in over six months. I'll probably keep the One just because I like having all the media options available at a quick voice command. It's so simple that even my parents were able to figure it out when they stayed at my place and watched my dogs while I was in Europe so I didn't have to constantly email them explaining things. That alone is worth the price of admission. :chuckle:

Nah.

Maybe someday.

Right now I kind of like what I have going. My PC is perfect for the types of experiences I can only really get on PC. For everything else, I have my Xbox. And I Never have to worry about upgrading.

Crazy how little talk there is about the actual game in here. It's less than 3 weeks away, can you believe that shit?

I wish more devs adopted the Bethesda model. Don't announce the game until it's nearly ready. It felt like an eternity waiting for the game, but when it finally did get announced, people were ecstatic that the game was dropping only 5 months later. And much like the new Star Wars, we have almost no idea what to expect with the game in terms of content. I like that. Almost everything we "know" is based off of how Fallout 3 played. There has been nearly no info since the announce.

Can't wait for just dive in.

You've seen all the YouTube videos of the game though right? I mean, we do know quite a bit.

Some of the things they're doing I'm not too fond of; like removing skill checks, removing the skill system entirely, and going with this ridiculous perk system.

That's, kinda what they did to Oblivion when they transitioned to Skyrim, kind of simplified it to the point where it was less immersive. At least for me.

I'm also a bit wary about the overuse of customized weapons. I hope they don't shirk on including a good amount of useful, prebuilt weapon models. I've seen a lot of footage of NPCs using custom builds. Hoping there is more variety in the base guns rather than just going with these component based builds.

Lastly, I'm hoping they offer some official support for the Oculus. I'm going to play this game with the Rift on my second play-through, so hoping to see more than hacks to get it running.

I think you're far more likely to see Microsoft allow their first party exclusives go to PC than Sony. SF5 may be a console exclusive for Sony, but it's not made by a first party and I'm guessing Capcom decided to do that partly because no one gives a fuck about Xbox in Japan and the Ps4 is dominating the xbox in the market generally.

I may have missed some videos, but I think I've seen 95% of the gameplay shown which isn't a ton. We don't know a damn thing about the story, which I like.

I agree on the skill stuff. I'm hoping it ends up working in action way better than I think it will,.

They did it because Sony paid for development.

I said partly, Gour. Don't spoil my argument with your facts, goddammit! :chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

That being said, the argument still stands that Sony first party exclusives (if they had any, amirite?) won't be joining the PC master race anytime soon.

Lol... just FWIW, I've talked with a few guys who know the inside scoop at Capcom (largely due to FGC guys working for Capcom) and from what I know, PS4 exclusivity was the only way SF5 was getting made with the budget it has. If SF5 bombs, Capcom might go under, and Sony could potentially buy them. It's literally that bad for them financially. Frankly, I'm not surprised, that is a horribly run company.

It's actually much better for the community. Now, there is only one platform, which improves competitive play. (Most folks don't have dual modded sticks).

That's surprising to me, but I guess it makes sense since most of the interest in their franchises has stagnated. I would have thought though that their future was more tied to their current attempt to revive the Mega Man series for its 30th anniversary.

But you're right that doing things like kicking Inafune to the curb are not the best strategy for a healthy company.
