FANTASY FOOTBALL 2017

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was offered Dak or Winston/Nuk/CWest (nothing piece, I'd cut him immediately) for Palmer/Amari, I feel like I'm giving up too much, thoughts?

Think I'm rolling Nuk. Seems to be in for another monster year without Assweiler throwing the ball. Plus Winston is a likely a massive upgrade at QB for you.

Wouldn't put it past him to go for 1300 and 12 TD's honestly.

All opinion though.

Also, @SuperSurge. Seems we had the same strategy in teaming an elite RB with the ultimate positional advantage of Gronk at TE every week, and worrying about our other positions later. I think it has a chance to pay massive dividends in the end for us if Gronk can stay healthy.

In normal season-long leagues there always seems to be RB's available every couple of weeks that can get you points as an RB2. Especially in a PPR setting.

Gronk should have a solid year barring injury, and in that other league I have Ertz as a backup or even a flex play during bye weeks.

In reality, my flex spot is my RB2 spot. I have top-notch WR, TE, and QB's.

Although my strategy could go to shit in a matter of a couple weeks or injuries.

That is an extremely boom or bust team.

Kelce, Freeman, Beckham, and Stafford are your sure things. The rest have a lot of variance.

Love the T Coleman pick as more than just a handcuff. Coleman is a fine RB3 in his own right and I think you'll end up starting him over Ingram consistently. Gimme that Atlanta backfield, damnit!!!

I think Duke is essentially useless in non-PPR. Same with Bernard with big dix mixon in town

I also have Blount in a league and really hope he gets cut to go back to the Pats. There was some rumblings. I didn't look into it enough.

Love the Hoyer pickup. I think Hoyer will be your starter relatively soon. Wentz fucking blows. Unless he takes a massive leap I just think Hoyer will be the better fantasy QB. Wentz' risk aversion would make Alex Smith blush #dink #dunk

It's a ten team league, so I tend to go with as many stud players as possible to buoy the top of my team, then hope I can find halfway decent players to round it out toward the end. I think I did that. I have four receivers who could all conceivably be WR1s or WR2s this year. Five if you count Matthews...someone has to be the lead receiver in that Bills offense.

I also think Duke will be fine, even in zero PPR. It sounds like they plan on giving him the ball a lot more this year, so I'm hoping that translates into 8-10 PPG in non-PPR. And really, Duke isn't going to be starting for me unless I have a couple of injuries or he blows up. I believe people are really undervaluing Gio too in every format. Dude has consistently been a top twenty RB every year, and was on pace to do the same last year before the injury. I think Hill will end up being the odd man out in Cincy, mostly because he's, you know, not good at football. Gio is actually good, and much more versatile than Hill as well.

Blount I drafted mostly because of value. He only cost me two bucks. Hard to argue with that late in the draft, as no other backs left had the kind of ceiling Blount does.

Breaking it down by monetary value, here was my team ($200 budget):

OBJ - $41
Freeman - $38
Kelce - $17
Bryant - $13
Hoyer - $3
Stafford - $15
Hyde - $16
Kizer - $5
Watkins - $6
Tevin Coleman - $4
Ingram - $12
Blount - $2
Duke - $5
Wentz - $8
Crosby - $1
Pats D - $1
Matthews - $2
Miller - $1
Corey Coleman - $7
Gio - $1
Kupp - $1
Doctson - $1

That's in the order I got them. Corey Coleman was the guy I went all in on at the end of my draft. I had to bid seven to get him, as another guy also had seven bucks as his max bid and he would have gone all the way there to get him too. Figured, at that point in the draft, there weren't a lot of guys who had elite WR production potential like I think Coleman does. Missed out on Corey Davis as a result, but this isn't a keeper league and he's more of a long-term play IMO, as the Titans are stacked at WR this year. I think Coleman has a lot more of a chance for some immediate return on investment.

I'm doing my first keeper league draft tonight. Frankly I don't know how long this league will last, it's kind of a hodge-podge of people.

But wtf am I supposed to do in the draft

Should the keeper aspect be driving any decisions in the first half of the draft or do people wait to get "sleepers" later in the draft

Or does anyone even care about the keeper part of it in the first year

Interesting to see the auction values. I tried to get our work league to go auction this year but got outvoted by 1

It's an actual crime Coleman went for $4

And for 2 bucks you can't go wrong with Blount

Yeah, I really didn't feel like I overpaid for anyone. Missed out on a couple of guys I liked by going all in on Corey Coleman, but I thought his ceiling was too high to pass up at that point and I really needed another WR.

The closest I probably came to overpaying was Stafford for $15, but in a two QB league all the half-decent fantasy QBs were going at a premium. I'm just hoping I can cobble together two viable starting fantasy QBs out of the four I drafted. Stafford should be a sure thing if he doesn't get hurt, but the other three are essentially a crapshoot. I think I like Wentz more than you do, though. He should be a viable QB2 this year, which is all I really need from him.

I did think that Watkins for six bucks was borderline theft. Can't believe no one was bidding on him. Ingram for twelve was a great deal too, as he's got top ten RB potential and is in a very fantasy-friendly offense. As far as Tevin Coleman goes, I think the issue is that he has the most value to whoever owns Devonta Freeman and less value to everyone else, so people were probably hesitant to bid on him, especially at that midway point in the draft when people were trying to finish building their starting line-ups and were more focused on saving their money for actual starters.

By the way, we have a spot opening in our RCF Standard League that drafts tonight since Chris is stuck at the airport. Would anyone here be interested in taking that spot? Draft is at 9pm EST.

I would not be interested in that spot. Let me know if it's ok if I don't take it.

10 team dynasty, snake, PPR, #2 pick

draft order:

lev
TY hilton (ugh really didn't want him)
gurley
hopkins
brady
ingram
watkins
rudolph
tevin coleman
decker
james white
texans
OJ howard (did not mean to pick him this early, ran out of time)
kamara (starting to get a little drunk/bored here)
dan bailey
mike williams

or position order

QB brady
RB leveon/gurley/ingram/coleman/white/kamara
WR TY/hopkins/watkins/decker/mike williams
TE rudolph/OJ howard
D/ST texans

have never drafted a QB high but eh let's try something new. was about to draft reed but he went two picks before me, i always wait too long on him (I have a man crush on him since he won me a chip two years ago). same thing with defense, the cherry popped two picks before me so i figgered i should grab texans. OJ howard panic pick was because i had a marvin jones ahead of a queue of sleeper keepers and then marvin jones got drafted right before me as well

wasn't happy about TY hilton and to a lesser extent hopkins, i always get suckered into "having" to take WR's early. but brady dropped to fifth round after i had decent RB/RB/WR/WR picks so eh.

pretty sure i reached on keeper picks but whatever, i think everyone was and i didn't know wtf i was doing

I really like Kamara in a keeper/dynasty situation. We are talking about an offense that gave up some explosiveness when they traded Cooks, and Peterson is running on fumes. Good get, Kouki.

He's also playing for a team that has a specific offensive role that they drafted him to fill, which gives him immediate value as well. New Orleans is a team that can feed multiple fantasy backs.

From our RCF Standard League. 10-team, .5 PPR. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FL, FL, K, DEF.

QB - Marcus Mariota, Tyrod Taylor

RB - David Johnson, Todd Gurley, Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, Rex Burkhead, Darren Sproles

WR - Doug Baldwin, Allen Robinson, Sammy Watkins, Davante Adams, DeVante Parker, Jordan Matthews, Adam Thielen

TE - Martellus Bennett

K - Zane Gonzalez (had to rep the Browns at least once)

DEF - Patriots

---

Feel pretty good about that one. My depth at RB isn't great at all (unless Murray gets hurt), but I am stacked at WR.
