It seems when you come to Cleveland your powers disappear

Korver looks washed, Marion style

He needs to hit shots to warrant time. It’s pretty simply.

And he needs plays run for him to hit shots.

Everybody knows that I was miffed at Griffin for blowing a 1st on Korver, but if we utilized the guy the right way he'd be useful for us. Playing him without LeBron and not having designated plays run for him mitigate his strengths and reduce him to nothing more than a depth piece and decoy. He could be so much more than that.

I know there are posters tired of the constant hit pieces on Lue, but pin Korver's relative ineffectiveness for us as another lapel on his "can't coach" jacket.

It does seem like Korver pretty much fell off the edge of the planet. He can't seem to do much of anything right. Committing fouls on 3 point attempts, turnovers, missing foul shots, missing 3 pointers.

Who is this guy and what did he do with the real Kyle Korver?

The only upside is, if he just returns to his career averages it will be a big upgrade. IF that ever happens.

Korver really isn't playable against high level teams. Just as we have witnessed against the warriors in the past. He is too predictable and easy to guard on offense and a liability on defense. When a committed athletic defender is on him he just disappears.

Also you would think he would be more fundamentally sound. Trying to force passes through defenders hands and not looking to receive passes from players have happened on a few occasions lately

Maybe he’s taken a few hits from JR’s bong?

The phrase 'can't win a championship with a jumpshooting team' started from the era where the best shooters were limited players like Korver and yes even Reggie miller to a lesser extent. Defenses tend to get successful results when they commit to putting the clamps on them especially if they didn't have extra dimensions like ballhandling, finishing or high level shotcreation. Even a numpty like JR has put the clamps on Korver (2015) and Klay Thompson (2016) when they tried to run them of screens. It's not exactly the most complex set to neutralise.

No disrespect to Korver who's a legend in my book. It's just we shouldn't put ourselves in positions where our winning is ever reliant on his shooting. I mean we can but no one complain when he gets shut down in a loss

Korver does bring a few unknown stats to the table . We will never know his impact as a shooting coach and teammate . He comes in early and stays late, always willing to help out . I believe the team is better with him than without and that’s all that really matters .

Yeah, I'm OK with Korver too. He's just a role player and may be playing too many minutes cause Lue can't manage a roster. Sure he's getting older and may be predictable to a degree but he has his worst games when everyone else is stinking it up too and he's thrust into a mess. He just had a 30 pt game recently; when's the last time JR did that?

Why can't they keep him in the James Jones role this year. He's valuable as a shooting coach

He was not ready to transition to the fast paced offense. Lebron has almost missed some quick passes. The remaining guys on the team have to adjust. Green is the only guy who seems to have really picked it up, and he wasn't great in the 2nd half against the spurs.

I am worried, but not that worried. Ad Lebron said, they played good enough D to win. They have to get more comfortable and they have to get used to playing at home.

Korver is fantastic in his role, but as soon as you take him out of that or try to make him something he's not, he's awful. He's not a flexible player, and asking him to try to flex, especially at 37 years old, is just not realistic.

When he's out there, he also needs LeBron out there. I think staggering him out there with LeBron and Love will make him more effective. Korver was at his best when he was stuck in one corner and Frye was in the other. We can pretty much replicate that same thing with Love when he gets back.

Clarkson / Hood / Korver / LeBron / Love looks like the perfect lineup of driving, kicking, and spacing to me. Defense might be suspect, but you could replace Clarkson with Hill if you so do please.

Fast pace + unfamiliarity with the new guys has been rough. I think it gets better but the predictably telegraphed passes to Korver needs to be curtailed because great defensive teams can render it useless
