Farewell, Richard Jefferson.

RJ is really turning on the jets to close the season strong. He obviously is not done, and obviously will contribute in the post-season. Very refreshing to see.

If RJ is in a good place, that bodes really well for the playoffs. He flat out knows how to play.

Is he injured? Getting a lot of dnpcd lately, even on blowouts...

He is like 90 years old. Dudes a vet and a pros pro. Save him for when it matters. At this point in his career his voice in the locker room and experience in general are way more of an asset to the team than a few minutes on the court.
Think James jones.

36 is the new 90?

RJ may see some more burn if Toronto switches to primarily small ball.

But honestly, Shumperts play so far has been the main reason RJ has been out of the rotation. He can't provide the level of D that Good Shump does on the perimeter anymore. He will absolutely play at some point. The Kyrie/JR(or Korver or Shump even)/RJ/Bron/TT lineup has always given GS problems even this year and I think Lue has it in his back pocket in case of emergency for now.

My bet is we see a lot more of RJ and a lot less of Frye tonight...

I think you see RJ in game 3 is shump gets a bit too big for his boots and starts jacking up shots like its the 4th quarter of a blowout. he can guard pj tucker really easily and if they are switching screens he can attack a closeout along the baseline

At this rate I have to assume that the Cavs plan to have RJ on the floor a lot against Golden State and are preserving him as much as possible. It's going to take everything he has remaining in the tank and then some for us to have a shot.

So where's RJ at? Lue loved him in the regular season. Is he really being preserved for Golden State?
