Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's about the only guy I like on this team right now. He's not a star C but he's definitely a quality C. He blocks shots, takes up space, fights for boards, finishes off the pick and roll, and gives full effort on defense.

Mozgov is definitely a guy who would be an adequate starter on many NBA title team. If he stays healthy, we can't use lack of a C as an excuse this season.

Yup. Wouldn't mind seeing him get some more post touches, he was getting deep position a bunch of times but kept getting looked off by Kyrie. He's not a great offensive player but he has some talent and decent footwork, might be worth seeing what he's got.

Didn't need help? Did you watch that 1st half where Gay would just catch the ball, notice J.R. Smith was "guarding" him and back him right into the paint for something very, very easy. We didn't have a soul on the roster who was even being a slight annoyance to Gay. Mozgov probably got tired of watching that shit and started doubling him.

Somehow he was regularly the guy to challenge corner 3s, too.

I can't wait till Shumpert and Marion are healthy because then we might have a couple of guys who aren't total messes on defense to help Mozgov. But right now he's starting with Irving, Smith, Miller, and Love. That's a minus defender at all four spots. All four. Mozgov can only do so much.

Part of the problem was that Gay looked too big for JR tonight. This shouldn't really a problem win the future with Marion and Lebron.

Mosgov's play gives me confidence. Pair this with a firing LBJ + a Marion-like defense and combine that with the fact that Kyrie's & Love's roles will change/restore to something more beneficial than what it is now and I'm happy.

I know it's not much to work with, but I'm trying to find the silver lining. Here's hoping this team clicks when LeBron shares the floor with an inside presence.

This team was struggling big time before LeBron and we're now seeing the affects of this play. Get this team back on winning quarters with LeBron and I get the feeling the team will figure out how to win without him from that point.

I just hope they can get to the point where LeBron being out doesn't automatically mean a loss. That's just shameful given the other guys out there.

I have a new nickname to throw out there.

20 Rock.

Tina fey starred in 30 rock and Timmy wears #20....... :conf (11):

Love this guy. Plays hard, seems smart and to be a fighter. We need 14 more like him.

Is it completely sad that Smith looks more competent than Irving when feeding big men in the post?

When you consider their age, and also consider the fact that JR Smith has been playing with competent bigs for years - then no, it's not.

Guys act like Irving can't develop... He's barely old enough to drink and easily has another 15 years in this league.

C'mon.... let's take the talent we have locked up for years and years to come and develop it!

I need Irving to develop some defense..better positioning..

This guy is in no way, shape, or form a savior. We would've been better off calling up Hassan Whiteside for free instead of trading away two firsts.
