Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We have to do whatever to keep this guy healthy. Pack the guy in ice, feed him like a fucking king.

This dude is a workhorse, and we're going to desperately need his full health and services for playoff basketball.
Agreed. In fact, outside of Lebron, he might be the guy we can least afford to have injured in the playoffs. Not because he's the second most skilled on our team, but we have nobody else on the team who can come close to replicating what he brings to the table.

I decided after his first game that if we win the championship this year the first Cavs jersey I am buying since LeBron's rookie year is Mozgov's.

I'd love to see all the smug announcers who said we panicked and made an awful trade talk about the trade now. The talking heads will be the first to remind you over and over again when they are right, but most never own up to being wrong

at least give me credit bruh

Now that we've paired LeBron up with an awkward seven-foot white guy from Eastern Europe (sort of) and an offense-only point guard who can drill threes, it's like he never left!
I know this was 100% said in a joking manner...but Kyrie has been playing some pretty damn good defense lately.

9.3 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block, 53.4% from the floor in just 26.3 minutes a game since being traded for. He has replaced Andy's production and then some if he can keep this up.

Its a shame Fragile Andy couldn't hold up until Griff was able to make the trade.
Andy would be a hell of a lot better off health wise if we were able to come off the bench behind Moz; and this team's weakness would have been a possible strength.
Hopefully Moz and TT can stay healthy the rest of the way.

Last Game was the first game where where you really "saw" what he brings to the Team. allthough he "only" blocked 2 Shots... he altered so many more.. and him just beeing an obstacle changed our defense completly. Also having a guy who can effectivly shut down opposing bigs when needed is completly new and awesome! Now not every half decent Post Player is looking like Shaq against us!

I am a big fan of the Mozgov trade. He has made our team look a lot better defensively and he is very capable offensively.

He was able to shut down Pau and take him out of the game. With that being said, i still worry about how effective he would be against athletic / physical centers. Luckily, most of those players are in the West but god forbid we make it out of the East somehow, i would be worried about his defense against the likes of Jordan, Griffin, or D12.

Well that's good because the Clippers won't make it out the first round if they run into the wrong team

Really don't see anyone other than Mavs/OKC/Spurs coming out of the West.

Just have a feeling one of those teams with a real defense will knock GS and Blazers out in the Conference Finals or earlier. I don't see the Clips making it to the Conference Finals.

Memphis.

They will be a match-up nightmare for almost every team in the West.

Hey Griffin, why didn't we get a 1st rounder with Mozgov? Minnesota traded Mo Williams and Chase Budinger to Denver for Mozgov AND a 1st round pick in my 2K game LOL. Just kidding, this was a great trade. Having Mozgov down low not only limits guys driving to the rim on us it also prevents the drive and kick 3's where we'd get annihilated by guys like Jennings and pretty much every PG who would count on us sending multiple defenders to help in the post since we had no presence there.

I really think this has gone away as Z-bo continues to age. He's not going to put up 20+ on 53%+ shooting for multiple series anymore. Jeff Green will help, but how much.

I agree with Jigo that I see it as being Mavs/OKC/Spurs, though I'd put Golden State in the conversation because of how valuable it is for them to be the home team.

How is Memphis a "nightmare" for any of them? Gasol is really, really good. Does he win a series on his own? I have my doubts. Conley is really good, but would you rather have him in a best of seven than Curry, Rondo, Parker, or Westbrook? Rondo I think is open for debate, though I'd take Rajon's tenacity. The other 3 are better than Conley.

Can Randolph hang with up-tempo players like what we see in Golden State? Can he run and jump with Ibaka? Can he defend the long Tim Duncan?

I might be underestimating Randolph, but I don't think he'll ever be one of the three best players on the court again in a playoff game. That was the reason they were so tough before. Now I think you can get away with playing him straight up and living with the results.

I'd take Curry, Durant, and Dirk as guys more capable of willing their teams to wins than Gasol.
