Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why no Moz to end the game or in OT? Seemed to me that they were getting a lot of easy looks at the rim and we should have brought in a rim protector to make it easier to defend the PnR with Harden. Plus fresh legs are brutal to contend with at the end of games.

It would have been nice to go back to him the post as well and we seemed to go way to LeIso

Who would you have proposed we sub him out for? TT was playing amazing and pulled town a ton of offensive boards (11) especially late in the game. And if we took out Love people here would've complained as well.

TT got killed by Jones in the first place and then stepped up in the 4th quarter. Clearly though the Rockets adjusted and they had a ton of easly looks to end the game and OT off the pick and roll near the rim. We should have countered by bringing in Mozgov who also had shown he was a good release valve on offense as the Rockets had difficulty guarding him.

We picked up Moz because we were weak in the middle when people attacked, yet we didn't use him against the guy who attacks more than any other player ( per FT attempts a game) in the game!! Let that sink in.

Moz and Love should have been in more of the 4th and much of OT. Both were having success on the block, Harden would not have had 18 FT attempts if Moz was still in the game. That part of the coaching was a mistake. Not to mention the middle would have been shut down.

Moz couldnt stop dmo, he was getting abused

Tristan did better on him and was rebounding better

#1 DMO doesn't beat you Harden does.
#2 18 mins is all he played.
#3 nothing I said takes away from TT, but if TT was a rim protector we don't trade 2 firsts for Moz, who needs to play it out.

This was one game where Moz was a liability but he fills his role well.

Lebron tried to win by himself. You could have put Moz in to punish them for going small, but he wouldn't have gotten the ball. That pop to Tristan was the right move when they doubled, could have on the game with that play, but Lebron needed to put up a prayer instead.

Need more Mozgov: don't like giving up big leads and easy buckets. I didn't like him not getting minutes in the 4th quarter against Houston and would have liked him against Toronto especially since they have a true C in Jonas. If a player (ala Lou Williams) gets hot you can switch the matchup on him or put in a guy who will make it for the players guarding him like Mozgov

I think if we can win with Moz getting minimum minutes it is better. Risking injury of our only good big is not worth it so some fans can be happy.
If we can limit him to 20 minutes and win, we should. We will need him healthy and fresh come playoff time.

There is a difference between resting and not playing him at all in the 4th quarter of tight games. The playoffs are going to be about finishing off an opponent not just blowing out minnows like we know we can do already. At the least you want to know how Moz will respond in crunch time and against lineups designed to try to make comebacks (i.e. small ball)

Blatt used TT over Moz for a reason and his plan worked. So really what's the rush to play Moz when our gameplan works? Is there some obligation to play certain players in the 4th?
