the stone hands are brutal, lots of wasted touches from the ball bricking off his hands
Good read on Mozgov....
Terrific read Simon, thanks.Simon said:"It wasn't even really a court," Mozgov says. "When you drove and came down, you had to be really careful [of the curb]. You could get injured every time."
Under Irvin's watchful eye, Mozgov was put through six hours of workouts per day. Footwork was emphasized. Film was studied. Yoga was mandatory. Irvin's camp also helped Mozgov adjust to America off the court.
(Post #1398)One thing I had noticed about Mozzy is how good he is at protecting himself from injury through excellent footwork and hanging on the rim for a half-second after a play to avoid coming down on someone's ankle.
Yeah, I figured(#856)PS- Perhaps Lebron would lend him his yoga instructor as well. That seems to possibly have done something for him...
I gave the Moz trade a 'B' and for now I'm sticking to it. I still think there are some glaring holes in his game that he needs to work on:
I will be watching his play closely in the playoffs.
- pushing the outlet pass
- keeping the ball up high after rebounds
- going stronger to the hoop [AC consistently mentions throwing the defender into the hoop]
- rounding off the stone hands, etc.
To be fair, he has way better hands than Vitaly Potapenko did, so not buying the stone hands thing, at all. I mean, if the difference is between him shooting 60% when he's on, and a mere 50% when he's "off"...that's a fantastic problem to have

I think if someone were to pull down his growing touches per game, that would be pretty clear.
No love for the BossGov? I didn't think he was in the 4th again this time.
