Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We should lock this, or merge it with the general WWE thread.

This is the general WWE thread. The other thread is supposed to only be for spoilers. When I get some time, I'm going to bring the non-spoiler posts from there into this one.

RIP Dusty Rhodes. The guy was alegend to wrestinling on the scene and behind the scenes. He helped make NXT legitimate and entertaining in its own right

Got tickets for money in the bank tonight, crazy how it's the same night as the finals. Hoping I can DVR and not get spoiled by someone before hand.

I recommend leaving your & whoever your withs phone at home.

Lmao I could hear Paige scream this is my house at the top of the arena.

Ouch, Prime Time players got like no pop here when they won, Paige got a bigger pop on her fake win.

Owens is killing the audience, has them in his palm.

Bray got a really huge pop also, probably second biggest, believe it or not R-Truth got a huge pop.

I don't expect their reign to last long, but I actually like the Prime Time Players and thought it was cool to see them win the belts after 3 years of being in the mix and being close many times.

I like that FINALLY for once Bray has had a legitimate reason to target someone (Reigns stealing his MITB opportunity). He'll probably come out the loser of the feud like he did Cena and Undertaker, but then again I didn't see him winning his feuds with Bryan and Ambrose either, and he did.

Truth is far from a great wrestler, but the dude is entertaining and actually pretty funny. I LOL'd when he came out on RAW last week during the segment with all the MITB participants thinking he was a part of it. This year has probably been some of his best work since he was a main event heel in 2011.

Owens is money. WWE needs to give us at least one Lesnar vs Owens classic before it's all said and done. I don't care if they're both heels.

Agreed on Truth.

People forget how AMAZING he was in 2011. Like, mic work? Elite. Dude can spit.

with the lack of shows to watch this summer somehow WWE got put on my hulu queue.

I agree with Jack about Owens especially after the kelly slam. Owend reminds me of ole and arn anderson. guys who were just plain jerks

Hearing Owens at ringside the similarities were just erie.

They looks like they have a solid plan for Owens and with victories over cena , ziggler and a few other WWE guys it really gives some weight to the NXT Belt.

I also Think they need to move some of the nxt tag teams up to the WWE because their tag teams just suck. not that the nxt guys are great but they are more entertaining than what Raw has to offer.

What im not seeing is someone who can be a hulk hogan, dusty rhodes, Steve austin, Goldberg, rock kinda talent and personality.

Ambrose is about the closest but he is more like a roddy piper heirarchy wise

Enzo and Cass are an attitude era tag team on the mic. Just come out, make fun of the other tag team in a creative way. Enzo is so entertaining.

Been spending the past two days getting caught up on all the shows and other stuff I missed while out of the country and finished up MitB last night. The best part was easily when Owens and Cena took turns lifting up their belts prior to the match and the crowd cheered Owens more than Cena. You could just tell that pissed Cena off, like for real. It's like he just doesn't understand how insufferable his character is. The match was pretty good, but it just sucked knowing exactly how it would end, because you knew the WWE wasn't going to let Cena lose twice in a row to the same guy. Cena stays protected.

I also loved how Owens beat the shit out of Cena after shaking his hand, then stood at the top of the entrance ramp and laughed. Owens is such a great heel. There's really no reason why he's still in NXT at this point. He might be the best wrestler on the roster right now and he's one of those rare guys capable of both being an expert heel and also winning over fan respect with his in-ring work. Like, he just begs you to hate him but you just can't because he's so damn good. It's ridiculous that he hasn't even been around for a year (in the WWE, obviously) and he's already put on three or four of the best matches I've seen this year.

Jack did you here him go Bobby the brain heenan on the announcers during the rhyno fight?

he also recovers well from pronunciation or verbal mistakes well to the point your not sure if it wasnt an intended mistake

I think that NXT is looking how to see how that Irish guy from the japan league works out

WWE just signed Samoa Joe to a full time contract.
I am really more eager to see Samoa Joe and afinn balor take on Owens and Rhyno Than what contender takes down sheamus or Ziggler and how many times Ambrose gets targeted by the authority

I think both he and Owens will have a big impact on WWE once they are fully transitioned.

In ROH Owens was a guy who was anti authority and against the establishment. it will be interesting to see if Triple HHH uses that to keep him intentionally out of the authority.

I just haven't been impressed by Samoa Joe yet. His match with Owens sucked, and given that Owens has had great matches with just about everyone, I'm guessing that wasn't on Owens. I also thought his first NXT match (or at least the first one televised on WWE Network) was boring. Maybe he just hasn't shown all he can do yet, but thus far he really hasn't lived up to the insane amount of hype behind him.

Having Owens join the Authority doesn't make much sense to me. You have a guy join the Authority when you want him to be a heel but he needs help to make the crowd hate him. See: Seth Rollins, who isn't all that great on the mic. Owens doesn't need help to generate heat, though. He's an expert at doing that on his own. Hell, he's so good at it that half the time the crowd cheers for him anyway, like when he made fun of Itami's speaking ability and the crowd loved it.

Guys like that should remain solo heels like Lesnar. Owens is more like Lesnar than Seth Rollins. He's proven he can hold his own in a fight and doesn't need to cheat to win. Joining the Authority would just cheapen his character. A guy like Rusev would benefit a lot more from joining the Authority since he'd have people to speak for him. Or Bray Wyatt, since he'd have some guys to help him actually win a match or two. :chuckle:

Thats what I meant someone to go against the authority in a non overt he top way. Owens hooking up with Rhyno shows he isnt afraid to team up as a matter of convenience.

I consider Owens taking on Cena sort iof representing his anti establishment ways as Cena portrays himself as mr america.

Ryback is actually WWE's version of Samoa Joe. the important thing to the wwe is people buy his stuff and he is a former ROH alumn with owens.
