Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

I'm looking forward to going to Wrestlemania this year. My first one I'm going to see live and in person. I know it's kind of lame, but it was such a big part of my childhood, and being able to see The Rock, Taker, Jericho and Triple H wrestle at the same event will bring back some great memories. I really don't give a shit about Swagger and Del Rio, so I hope it's a quick match.

Did you guys know that wrestling is fa-...

Never mind...

Yes, but tell me how you fake this:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ikaXl4QbsUQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/H_q34SNivGY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/v-7YY5sixbI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I know it's fake, but it's entertaining as hell. There's been many people injured doing it (non story line injuries). The job does a take a toll on the body.

Since Swagger got his DUI and violated the wellness policy, I'm not sure they'll continue his push.

I agree here. I'm expecting Ziggler to cash in and win.

I don't really like Alberto del Rio as a face or a heel. He just hasn't grown on me, he seems forced.

I really like the "We the People" gimmick on paper and I think the Zeb Coulter character is amazing, but I don't think Swagger is doing a strong enough job generating heat on his own or wowing me with his matches. Compound that with Swagger's DUI and I don't see his push going beyond the month of April. I thought they'd continue to push him despite his Wellness failure, but only if he significantly got over with this gimmick, and I'm just not seeing it.

I love Ziggler, I think his character, persona, and skills are incredible, and he's due for a significant push.

I don't really care about the Rock vs. Cena match because everybody knows that Super Cena is going over. Let's be honest, neither The Rock or John Cena are great wrestlers. I feel like CM Punk carried The Rock in their matches and elevated the match vs. John Cena on RAW a few weeks ago to a 5-Star Match, despite being sick.

The Brock vs. HHH match is similar to me, but I actually really like Brock Lesnar. I know he's likely to lose, but I still think it's going to be a much better match than Rock vs. Cena. HHH is a tremendous worker and can deliver all kinds of high quality matches. Brock is incredible too. It's going to be a fight, but I'm looking forward to it anyways.

Speaking of expected outcomes, I think most people are expecting Taker to go 21-0 at WrestleMania, and while I agree, it's likely, I'm hoping for the first time in a long time, that Taker loses. Let's be honest, Taker doesn't have that much time left in the ring. The amount of clout CM Punk could gain for ending The Streak would propel him into legendary ranks - and I believe he deserves it.

There's really no reason to turn this into a joke thread.

If you don't watch wrestling or don't care, then don't come into the thread.

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

I'll be there as well

Should be a good time (fuck The Rock for promoting a movie over appearing on Raw though). At least Taker/HHH/Brock are scheduled to be there

I'm so pissed about that, don't give the guy the title if he won't be there 2 weeks in a row.

Perhaps the correct section would have been a better choice instead of the section designed for nonsense. I seriously thought The Optomist was trying to pull a PIP and made this to make fun of it since he put it in here instead of the "other sports" section.

The original post in the thread kind of made it pretty obvious he was being serious. I went ahead & moved it anyway to avoid any further confusion.

When Flair came back, I was really hoping he would become Ziggler's manager instead of whatever his relationship with The Miz is. Ziggler is hopefully going to be the Shawn Michaels of this generation of wrestlers (with Punk kind of like Stone Cold).

The crazy thing is, with so many part timers wrestling, guys like Barrett, Kofi Kingston, Cesaro (who is one of the best new guys I've seen in a while) and even Ziggler get pushed to the back. Obviously there is going to be a Ryback vs Mark Henry match. The Shield vs I'm assuming Randy Orton (who should have a singles match but is going to get stuck in this boring/seemingly continuos storyline) , Shemus and the Big Show. Some terrible divas match. I don't know how they're going to pack it all into 3 hours. Like seven 10 minute matches and three 30 minute matches?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they've been having WrestleMania go 4 hours the past 2/3/4 years or so..

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

Yeah wrestling is fake but so what. Everything on TV is fake, even TRU TV is fake,(Lizard Lick Towing always gets the doors and windows busted with horrible acting) its all about entertainment anyways. If the WWE are creating good storylines with their characters then it gets my interest. Although WWE was soooo much better during the Attitude ERA than right now, but PG is ridiculous. Also, it's a sad story that Paul Bearer died before Wrestlemania so I can't see Taker losing to the Punk.

But fake or not, wrestling is wrestling and it was a hell of a lot better in the older days than now. It's a shame, only if WWE had competition.... WCW was great at that.

I miss JR screaming "STONE COLD, STONE COLD, STONE COLD" STUNNER, STUNNER, STUNNER"

Funny thing is WWE stole most of their attitude era from ECW.

That's because Orton violated the wellness policy for like the 100th time. He's on punishment and he's lucky his ass didn't get suspended or fired.

I placed it where Ben normally does. Besides, "Other Sports" gets like zero traffic.

Of course I know it's scripted.. but you are doing yourself a disservice by writing it off. CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler are some entertaining guys. On the Mic and in the ring. Without MNF, I tune into Raw for my Monday entertainment.

Yeah since Wrestlemania 23 it's been 4 hours

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

Raw live was awesome, if you've never been to a show I would highly suggest it.
It's crazy how many people it takes for the show to run how it does and to watch it all is something else.
Can't wait for 'Mania!

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

Does it piss anybody else off that the Rock hasn't been on in like a month and he's the WWE Champion....i don't see Rock vs Cena being the main event......Lesnar/HHH or Taker/Punk is deserving of the last match
