FIESTA BOWL: OSU v. TEXAS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Forward progress is the biggest bullshit in the game of Football

Were going to suck next year.

How do you figure that were gonna suck? Did the seniors impress you that much tonight? They didn't do much for me, besides Jenkins and Laurinitis, who will be hard to replace, but right now we have 2 Five star linebackers on the bench as freshman, and we are bringing in the top ranked DE, LB, and 3rd ranked running back next season, to play along with Pryor. We also have the #1 recruiting class this season. I think we'll be just fine.

Edit:

Robiskie played well too, but we have some great receivers to replace him as well. If he wasn't to drop that pass in the first quarter, we may have scored another touchdown or field goal there.

People have told me we are going to suck for years now and I have yet to see it. I heard it after we won the National Championship, I heard it when Hawk, Smith, and Ginn left, and I'm hearing it again. You can say it as much as you want but Tressel is a great recruiter and he has been bringing in top 5 talent since he has been here. Pryor will be one year older and wiser, I can't wait til next year...

I'm not an OSU fan, but have seen Dorian Bell (Gateway, Pittsburgh) play several times and the kid is a beast. He covers so much ground and finds himself in the right position nearly every time.

Wow I am watching the Beanie interview right now, he had a concussion and at one point could not see. He looks f*cked up, p*ssed off, doesn't seem like he wants to be interviewed lol.

I gotta blame the game on clock management with Tressel on the last TD. That, and a few boneheaded plays by Pryor.

The second FG we got, Pryor had a great run on second down that could have picked up a first down inside the 5 yard line. Instead, he ran out of bounds to avoid any contact, we got stuffed on third down and settled for a FG. I know he's only a freshman, but its the last game of the season man... you gotta at least try for that first down.

The life of a Cleveland sports fan....:(

I don't know if I have any more heart left to break

You mean you guys havent learned how to block the pain of losses yet? Put it in perspective plenty of our teams have blown MUCH bigger games than this one.

At least thats what gets me through...

Come on now, guys. Did you really think we were going to win? I admit, I almost got dragged in. I almost started believin'. I sat down, began watching intently, but after those boneheads scored and left more than 2 minutes on the clock rather than taking their time when they were moving the ball at will, I INSTANTLY grinned. I knew what was coming.

It still hurts, obviously, but when you know it's coming, it hurts a lot less. Still sucks though. Still going to cry myself to sleep. :(

Still going to be pissed off at the world and wonder when the hell we are going to have SOMETHING to cheer about around here.

Don't know really what to think after this game. I kind of feel like I did after OSU lost to Florida in the basketball championship. I feel disappointed and heartbroken that we lost but feel pretty good about the effort put forth by the team. In both BCS games I was disappointed by the lack of competitiveness (Florida) and discipline (LSU). I felt OSU really wanted it tonight but Texas was just that good to pull it out in the end. I can't really point the finger at anyone because you'll get nowhere doing that in a game like this. It just wasn't meant to be tonight.

Jim "Clock Management Guru" Tressel with 2 min, down by 2, on the 20

And they quickly rush a TD..........

They couldn't burnt the clock to less than 1 min left and kicked a FG

So many woulda coulda shoulda's to sink in for the next months, really disapointed with the defense at the end. Really disappointed with the seniors

Tressel called a run play and it just so happened to go for 6. Did you want us just to run the ball up the middle 3 times, just to kill clock, even though they still had 2 timeouts left? Then kicks aren't even money in college football, what if the kick was blocked and we lose? Tressel called a run, Boom Herron busted it outside and got in the end zone; it's not like we threw the ball into the end zone.

Overall a bland offensive attack that led to the defense being on the field constantly and eventually breaking down. Tressel just doesn't get the team or a gameplan going for big games like this. Congrats on smacking around the Big 10 but what good is that?

The funny part is all these Buckeye fans I talk to keep saying that YES beating Michigan and the Big Ten is what it's all about. To which I respond: WTF?

This is a proud program, any Buckeye fan who is happy with just beating Michigan (who sucks anyways) needs a reality check.

As soon as OSU scored I knew it was over for them. They did score way to fast. Tressel did call a run but it just happened to go to the house.

Now most players are too selfish and just not smart enough to think of this (unless your Brian Westbrook), but Herron should have just fell down on the 2 yard line. OSU could have kneed it twice, then tried running in a TD or just kicking a FG from the 3 yard line. Oh well though, I guess that is too much to ask of someone to be smart and athletically gifted.

Does anyone think Tressel is overrated? If it wasn't for that late pass interference call vs Miami, the guy would be known for not being able to win the big one by now.
