Don't sleep on Channing Frye guys...he was quietly the third best player on that surprisingly good Suns team, and he worked wonders playing off of two ball-dominant guards in Dragic and Bledsoe. He would be a great fit here if he's willing to come.

I would love Frye here as well, provided we jettison TT and Hawes.

No he wouldn't. He's a PF and we already have 2. Only throw big money at SFs and Centers please.

Edit: Doesn't Bennett project to provide what Frye does? Spacing for our guards? No need for him imo.

He played about half his minutes at center last year, and was arguably more effective there than at PF. At 6'11" 250 with good length, he has legit center size. I certainly wouldn't be interested in him if he were a pure PF.

You haven't been paying attention to Griffin as a GM. If they bring Hawes back I think Frye is a bit redundant, but Griffin wants a floor stretcher at PF. If Griffin stays on as GM, expect a philosophical difference on the court. I could absolutely see Channing Frye getting a long look from the Cavs though. Provides exceptional floor spacing and is a good locker-room guy. In fact, if the Cavs could pick up Frye on a reasonable deal, I think Hawes becomes expendable...and Hawes isn't a great locker-room guy. He's naturally divisive even if he is respectful to those around him.

Can't have Republicans in the locker room!!

I'm partial to McRoberts over Frye. Good passer.

Sure, if we were looking for a PF. Frye's versatility is what I like about him...he can fit in the frontcourt with Varejao, Zeller, Tristan, or Bennett. McRoberts really needs a center next to him at all times.

Yea, I have very little desire to watch Channing Frye player center next to our front-court players.

I lean right but there's a difference between a republican and a republican that has Obama's face on his toilet paper.

I'm not saying he's a terrible dude, but he's a bit of a loner in NBA locker-rooms and was a bit of an oddball through high school and college as well. His reputation among NBA referees is terrible as well although I'm not sure that weighs heavily into the decision of re-signing him or not.

But if the Cavs could sign Frye for a reasonable deal I think it makes Hawes expendable, if he isn't already. And Griffin loves 4's and 5's that stretch the floor.

Nate Robinson will indeed opt out of his contract and will be a free agent this summer.

I'd like Zach Randolph if we had a stronger locker room. As is though, he would not add any stability.

I said I don't want him. Never said anything about which FAs we'll actually go after. Who knows with the way things have gone recently. Bottom line is we already have players that provide the spacing he brings and although Nathan pointed out that he saw a lot of minutes at Center last season, from what I'm seeing on Basketball-Reference his minutes at PF far outnumbered his minutes at Center. Furthermore, would you guys actually want to see him at center? Because I sure as hell know I wouldn't. Would rather go after a more defensive oriented center who could anchor our defense. Wouldn't be "upset" if we got him but wouldn't be overly excited either.

We should look into trading for Tyson Chandler, Gorgui Dieng, Rudy Gobert, Lucas Noguiera, (maybe) Larry Sanders. Either established rim protectors who could become available this summer or young guys playing behind established frontcourts.

Ive been updating the contracts as they come in. . mostly as reference. plenty of other threads for discussion
