Bobcats Injuries

• None.

Cavalier Notes

• Cleveland beat Charlotte 96-79 in the Bobcats season-opener on October 30.

• Cleveland has beaten Charlotte the last four times they’ve faced each other, including earlier in the season 96-79 at The Q.

• In tonight’s game, Zydrunas Ilgauskas will surpass John “Hot Rod” Williams for third on the Cavaliers all-time list for games played with 662. Z is 15 rebounds away from becoming the Cavs franchise leader in rebounds (Brad Daugherty - 5,227).

• In his last two games, Ilgauskas is averaging 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. He has now tallied six double-doubles for the season and scored in double figures in all 17 games this season and 31 straight, dating back to last season.

• LeBron James has 732 career steals and is only three steals away from becoming the Cavaliers franchise steals leader (Mark Price - 734).

• In their current seven-game win streak, the Cavs have won by an average of 22.0 points and at least 12 points in each game. They are averaging 110.0 points on .503 shooting to their opponents 88.0 points on .399 shooting. This streak is the most consecutive wins by double digits in team history and one shy of the NBA single-season record for consecutive wins, all by at least a dozen points. This record is currently shared by the 1990 Portland Trail Blazers, the 1996 Chicago Bulls, the 2003 Detroit Pistons and the 2007 Houston Rockets.

• Cleveland’s 16-3 start is the best start to a season in franchise history, besting the 11-3 starts in both 1976-77 and 1988-89. The Cavs have won 15 of 16 games in a season for the first time in franchise history.

• For the 2008-09 NBA season, the Cleveland Cavaliers rank in the Top 5 in the following defensive and offensive statistical categories:

• Cleveland is winning games by a 12.9 point differential, which ranks 1st in the NBA. The team’s point differential at home is (17.1).

• The team ranks 2nd in the NBA (Boston) in both defensive field goal percentage at .418 (622-1489) and opponent points per game (91.1).

• Cleveland ranks 2nd in the NBA (Portland) in opponent rebounding, holding opponents to only 37.3 rebounds per game.

• The team ranks 2nd in the NBA (Phoenix) in field goal shooting at .484 (729-1507) and has shot over .500 in seven games (all wins).

• Cleveland ranks 3rd overall in the NBA (Los Angeles Lakers, Warriors) in scoring at 104.4 points per game.

• Anderson Varejao scored 13 points on 6-6 shooting in the second quarter and finished the game against Indiana with 17 points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. Varejao is averaging 11.7 points on .778 shooting and 8.3 rebounds in his last three games. In two games against Indiana this season, Varejao is averaging 17.5 points on .714 shooting and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Bobcat Notes

• Bobcats guard Shannon Brown and forward Dwayne Jones played for the Cavaliers during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.

• Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins played 34 games for Cleveland during the 1993-94 season.

• Cavaliers guard Eric Snow played for Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown for the Philadelphia 76ers from 1997-2003, where he was a teammate of Bobcats center Nazr Mohammed from 1998-2001.

• Bobcats center Nazr Mohammed and Cavaliers forward Lorenzen Wright were teammates with the Atlanta Hawks for part of the 2000-01 season.

• Cavaliers assistant coach John Kuester was an assistant coach under Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown with the Philadelphia 76ers from 1997-2003 and with the Detroit Pistons in 2003-04. Kuester was a college teammate of Bobcats assistant coaches Dave Hanners and Phil Ford at the University of North Carolina.

_amon's Keys to the Game

• The Cavs don't need my help. They just need to keep up the ass-kickings that they are delivering.

_amon's Prediction

Cavs 106 - Bobcats 82

• While the Bobcats are better than last season, they still suck, and the Cavs are on a mission.

Charlotte fought till the last minute in Milwaukee tonight, losing 101-96 after having the ball with a chance to tie down the stretch.

Wallace 38 mins
Okafor 35 mins
Richardson 36 mins
Felton 39 mins
May 21 mins
Dudley 22 mins
Augustin 27 mins
Mohammed 12 mins
Morrison 6 mins (??)
Carroll 3 mins (??)

Should be a very winnable game, although probably a lot more competitive than we saw tonight. Augustin has been playing very well for them, including being paired with Felton, so it looks like we'll see a bunch of short guards on the floor throughout the night.

It's the kind of game where Z should dominate if he can bounce back after tonight.

Wow...That's a nice stadium (from the outside) they got there in Charlotte...

As far as the game...both teams dealing with the back to back, only CHA is at home...

How bummed would we be if the Cavs dropped this game...

Watch out for JRich...

JRich is going to be worked up, I'm sure, because he was called tonight for an offensive foul (it was the right call, drawn by Bogut) on a late drive down by 2 points. It was the Bobcats last shot at winning the game. Plus he's going to think that West is too small and slight to cover him.

Mike Jordan said, 'Do you need an oxygen mask?'"

May 'No, just give me a couple minutes and I'll be fine.'"

:D from a couple nights ago

oh look

it's my 1 k post:drink:

There should be no reason we lose this game with the way we are playing. Plus, the Bobcats suck. Sean May starts? What a joke.

If anyone here is actually worried about this game tomorrow night then I'm ordering a mandatory timeout for you from posting. This is the 7-12 Charlotte Bobcats we're talking about on the second night of a back-to-back. They are 6-7 at home and score 90 points a night against defenses much worse than ours. Relax.

In that pic of the empty stadium. Is that halftime or something?

Looking forward to seeing the Cavaliers live Saturday night! Bobcats have cheap seat tickets for like 9 bucks, so the wife and I are going to hit up the game tomorrow night.

I just know not to be late, as the game could be over by halftime.

Yeah Cavs live!

Buddy

You can't watch a high school game for less than 9 bucks a ticket on the west coast... heck, I can't listen to a homeless man play the accordian for five minutes for less than 9 bucks.

It's a back to back on the road and we need to buckle down in our...wait, we're playing the Bobcats? Screw it, Cavs by 15...at the least.

This could be an interesting game since its the 3rd in 4 nights and on the road. Charlotte isn't exactly the elite of the NBA, but, if Jrich, Felton and Wallace get hott, they can be a handful. I think it will be a close game but Cavs pull away in the end and win by 10-15.

I hope LeBron will put on a show in front of MJ.
