Cavalier Notes
• Cleveland beat Charlotte 96-79 in the Bobcats season-opener on October 30.
• Cleveland has beaten Charlotte the last four times they’ve faced each other, including earlier in the season 96-79 at The Q.
• In tonight’s game, Zydrunas Ilgauskas will surpass John “Hot Rod” Williams for third on the Cavaliers all-time list for games played with 662. Z is 15 rebounds away from becoming the Cavs franchise leader in rebounds (Brad Daugherty - 5,227).
• In his last two games, Ilgauskas is averaging 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. He has now tallied six double-doubles for the season and scored in double figures in all 17 games this season and 31 straight, dating back to last season.
• LeBron James has 732 career steals and is only three steals away from becoming the Cavaliers franchise steals leader (Mark Price - 734).
• In their current seven-game win streak, the Cavs have won by an average of 22.0 points and at least 12 points in each game. They are averaging 110.0 points on .503 shooting to their opponents 88.0 points on .399 shooting. This streak is the most consecutive wins by double digits in team history and one shy of the NBA single-season record for consecutive wins, all by at least a dozen points. This record is currently shared by the 1990 Portland Trail Blazers, the 1996 Chicago Bulls, the 2003 Detroit Pistons and the 2007 Houston Rockets.
• Cleveland’s 16-3 start is the best start to a season in franchise history, besting the 11-3 starts in both 1976-77 and 1988-89. The Cavs have won 15 of 16 games in a season for the first time in franchise history.
• For the 2008-09 NBA season, the Cleveland Cavaliers rank in the Top 5 in the following defensive and offensive statistical categories:
• Cleveland is winning games by a 12.9 point differential, which ranks 1st in the NBA. The team’s point differential at home is (17.1).
• The team ranks 2nd in the NBA (Boston) in both defensive field goal percentage at .418 (622-1489) and opponent points per game (91.1).
• Cleveland ranks 2nd in the NBA (Portland) in opponent rebounding, holding opponents to only 37.3 rebounds per game.
• The team ranks 2nd in the NBA (Phoenix) in field goal shooting at .484 (729-1507) and has shot over .500 in seven games (all wins).
• Cleveland ranks 3rd overall in the NBA (Los Angeles Lakers, Warriors) in scoring at 104.4 points per game.
• Anderson Varejao scored 13 points on 6-6 shooting in the second quarter and finished the game against Indiana with 17 points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. Varejao is averaging 11.7 points on .778 shooting and 8.3 rebounds in his last three games. In two games against Indiana this season, Varejao is averaging 17.5 points on .714 shooting and 7.5 rebounds per game.

_amon's Keys to the Game
• The Cavs don't need my help. They just need to keep up the ass-kickings that they are delivering.
_amon's Prediction
Cavs 106 - Bobcats 82
Cavs 106 - Bobcats 82
• While the Bobcats are better than last season, they still suck, and the Cavs are on a mission.
