Game 20, Cavs at Pistons.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
this team is miserable

What did Scott have to say after the game? I know Fred and Austin were giving it their very best spin jobs.

Better effort.

What does that even mean in the context of being blown out by the Pistons?

only way to make sure jawad isnt going to get PT is to trade or cut him...do it GRANT
Scott refuses not to play him..wtf?

haha....yeah, it's always funny to hear Fred and AC try to put positive spin on how terrible the cavs are...typical company men trying to polish the turd no matter how bad it stinks.

I think Byron is holding back tears.

How is it that I spent my entire day on this website, and only just now found out about tonight's game?

4 straight blowout losses and counting...

We're 20 games into the season at this point and its become painfully clear that this team has virtually no chance to make the playoffs. If they were somehow able to snake their way into the 8th seed, they are getting swept out 4-0 by Orlando, Boston, or Miami. The illusion is over. There isn't going to be any feel good story this season. The Miami game appeared to completely break what little spirit this team had left.

This is a roster built to play around a superstar wing player and we lost the superstar wing player. We've just got a roster loaded with one dimensional players right now and that's showing in how ugly the team has been playing recently.

If we're going to keep getting blown out, we might as well see what we have in Manny Harris, Samardo Samuels, and Christian Eyenga. None of these guys might be ready for heavy NBA minutes at the moment, but if we're getting blown out playing the veterans, then it might be time to take these last 50-60 games and see if we might have potential rotation players for next season.

If we're a 25 win basketball team, then there is no reason for guys like Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, Jawad Williams, Leon Powe, and Joey Graham to be playing. None of these guys are going to be here next season and none of them are really contributing to wins on the floor.

All those in favour of a full rebuild should be happy with this current streak, it increases the chance of the cavs using the deadline to reduce payroll and aquire assets

It's hard to watch, but there's a glimmering gem of hope in seeing these guys play like shit. And that hope is in watching Perry Jones Youtube videos.

I was at the game last night and here are a few of my observations.

1) Jawad is the epitome of what is wrong with this team. His ill-advised jumpers on fast breaks and lack of effort are just hard to watch. I counted at least two or three times where Jawad had a chance to save a ball from going out of bounds and instead just stood there and watched it roll out of bounds. I know there aren't many other options at the position on this team, but Jawad needs to be sent far away from this team because he embodies all that is wrong.

2) When is the new offense finally going to kick in? It really seems like only Mo, and to a lesser extent Boobie, even pushes the ball up court. That is the only glimpse that this team is trying to be a running team. It killed me in the second half when they seemed to force feed JJ and Ryan in the post. It slowed the game down and played right into the Pistons hands. I understand keeping the defense honest but JJ is more suited as a slasher and Ryan is more of a garbage basket guy. Neither have the effective post moves yet to make these type of plays effective.

3) When the Pistons turned up the intensity in the third the Cavs couldn't match it and when they got behind by ten you could just tell they felt they had no chance and really never had the same focus as in the 1st half. As evidence of where their mind was at that point, during one of the timeouts Chris Jent was trying to tell Boobie something but Boobie was way too interested in the Pistons dance team to really pay attention. I'm sure this happens a lot but I thought it still showed a lack of focus on the business at hand.

4) Drafting a great small forward will go along way to improving this team. Of course it will be hard to replace the level of talent we previously had at the position, but a player with the similar skill set will fit well with the team as currently constructed. The team was constructed to compliment Lebron and thus we have a bunch of role players in starting roles. Many of these guys can't create their own shot or take over the game consistently when the team is struggling. Having someone who can allow these guys to return to roles that suit their games could go a long way to bringing back the confidence they had the last few years. Right now everyone are in roles that they are under-suited for and this may be causing some of the lack of cohesion and confidence we are seeing on the court.

Sorry for the long post but I felt I should post something since I was at the game. My hope for the Q is that when the fans begin to wane, the die-hards can continue to keep the Q loud. I was impressed with the fans at the Palace, they kept it loud in there for much of the game even though the arena was about half full if that.

I thought Mo looked good until the last couple minutes when he was forcing up 3s to try to get us back in the game. Stuckey was just bigger than him and able to score fairly easily. Parker did a horrible job on Hamilton, who is in all honesty not very good.

Stuckey drove the paint at will against Mo . Iam glad he got his assist totals up but there was a lot of standing around with the ball.

Mo is a better player if there are two other players on the floor that can initiate. In the past that was West and Lebron . It all on his shoulders now and he looks over his head

I'd like to star Boobie and either move Parker to the 3 or the bench

Parker has developed much offensively from standing in the corner and hoping the opposition forgets about him

Agreed though this would leave us pretty thin at the 3 . . .who would start Eyenga?
