Game 27 | Cavs @ Golden State | December 25th, 2015 | 5:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep, the difference is the amount of OPEN shots the Cavs missed. The Warriors by no means had their best game, but for the most part made their open shots. Very good team, so are the Cavs. Most games come down to making shots. Disappointing game today but hardly discouraging. I still think Spurs make the Finals.

Win the East, worry about the rest later.
Agree with this completely

Some of the matchups bothered me..no Jefferson to matchup with Livingston?

Cavs missed too many shots, it looked like Lebron forced too much and he had a bad night with FT'S..
I get ticked at MOZ for not getting enough lift to slam on someone..anyone ..and not get his attempt blocked.

JR didn't get going..neither did Shump.
Love faded..
I never got that feel that they would take over the game even though they were within 3 most of the 4th.
Down the stretch no one was playing D in he paint and it looked like a rerun of the finals..
I'm sick of GS and this was a game the Cavs could have taken if they had passed more than dribble dribble dribble.
I wonder if Blatt is saving Jefferson as an ace in the whole in case we meet in June? Odd he was not in there.

Did we all watch the same game? Are people really talking about this game as if it means ANYTHING at all in the long run?

It was a measuring stick game. The Cavs came up short but just because the Cavs lost doesn't mean they can't take some positives out of this.

The worst thing you can do is judge an entire team performance based on whether you win or lose at this point in the season. It's about the process. Cavs defense was great. Effort was great. Execution offensively and shooting needed to be much better.

Someone else already said this, and I think it's smart:

We may have been purposely NOT showing them our best sets and our best lineups. That way, they'll have to wait until the finals to see what we really look like.

Also, I'll keep saying this until I'm proven right:

The Warriors aren't making it out of the West.

Warriors or Spurs. It all depends if they meet or not. If they do, Spurs, if not, look at 2015.

Btw, you do know Cleveland has won a bunch of titles right? Indians x 2, Browns x like 8. Maybe, NoRecentTitleTown is a better name?

It's just a dumb forum name (and yes, I know). Better than being named after a damn fruit. ;)

Eat a slice of cake and enjoy Christmas with your families guys. Forget about this game and focus on your families. There is always next game.

Yeah...family....my Uncle kept wondering aloud why we weren't playing Varejao... my grandma asked if any of my fantasy football players were playing in the game. Do I have to focus on them?

My biggest takeaway was the Cavs are still fantastic about dictating pace and flow of games against Golden State.

Wining and losing comes down to them finding their shooting rhythm. They didn't have it tonight but with a healthy roster in June, I'll take my chances against them again.

The Cavs are maybe the only team in the league with the perimeter length to consistently bother the Warriors. That doesn't guarunte wins but is the only style that has proven to be effective.

analysis:
2.) blatt willing to die with great defensive lineups that can't score in hopes they might get lucky and score.

We can have both if Kyrie is 100% (which you mentioned at 3). That's the beauty of Shump. He allows KI to slide off Curry and check Thompson, who is a much easier cover as a catch and shoot guy.

The difference tonight was Kyrie just doesn't have it yet. I could count the number of times he's been blocked on one hand. 2 of them were tonight. Once he gets his legs under him, this is a totally different team. He makes Curry and Thompson expend a ton of energy on the defensive end, which for a jump shooter, tends to lead to flat shots.

Presently constructed, with no tweaking, the Cavs look like the second best team in the NBA. I sure hope I'm wrong.

I still think it's a toss up over 7 games, if we are speaking to healthy rosters.

Cavs missed a bunch of open shots. Those tend to average out.

Warriors shot OK against a bunch of contested shots.

The larger room for improvement lies with the Cavs IMO.

Doesn't guarantee anything but the Cavs gameplan obviously worked. You hold a team like the Warriors to under 90 points, you only need an average offensive night to win. Unfortunately the Cavs didn't get one but that is the blueprint. Grind it out, slow the game down and try to draw fouls. Maybe next time the refs cooperate a little more.
