Game 30 | Detroit Pistons (6-23) @ Cleveland Cavaliers (18-11) | December 28, 2014 | 4:30 pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Windy said it 2 weeks ago- it's a bad dynamic with Blatt not hiring his coaches and having Lue right next to him. Blatt is going to get fired because Lebron and DJones are close to Lue. Lue was passed over for the job and took the money to take orders from a guy he never met before who beat him for the HC gig.

Typical Cavs being an awful organization
Seems like you have it all figured out

Difference between Heat and Cavs is our organization can be run by a player and Blatt will be fired. In Miami Riley would tell the players to play better and the coach is the coach. The Cavs change coaches like they are gym socks

One of the weirdest games I have ever seen.

1. We can't blame not being ready because we were and played well. I thought Love was doing a good job of bodying up on defense and was engaged. From 32-17 up, we went down 89-63 in the course of 23 game minutes. That's like losing a half 67-31. We panicked and didn't trust anything and thenPistons were happily chucking away.

2. Our overall defense wasn't even that bad other than letting a few too many shooters get open looks. A lot of those makes were just Jennings coming down and chucking. They wound up shooting about 44% Drummond killed us on the offensive boards of course so that hurt us giving up second chance points. If Drummond ever gets a jump hook or learns to shoot FTs, wow...

3. The offense was actually really good in the first 18 minutes before that meltdown. We scored 28 in the first but could easily had more as Love missed open threes that came off of offense being run. Miller, Delly, Love, and James missed wide open threes the entire game and could not hit one to stem the tide save Love's three before the half.

3a. Against good teams, wide open threes missed almost always comes back to haunt you. Now, Detroit isn't good, but it came back to haunt us again. Those open threes extend leads and demoralize the opposition and we could not hit one to save our lives. If we make a few of those and even one or two of thenDetroit chucks miss, the entire gsme is different.

4. Detroit played so freely and just chucked without a care in the world. Some of those shots weren't even good but they went in. We actually had more assists (25 to 21).

5. It's clear that James doesn't trust anyone. We were up 41-30 after he came back in and went on a little run. They chuck up a couple of threes and we completely melt down. James started chucking up bad shots, got blocked by Drummond, turned it over. It was a shocking sight to be honest. Complete melt down. I thought the 4 points right before the half would help but it was the exact same thing right after halftime. James has now played three of his worst games ever in a Cavs uniform this year (Spurs, NYK, this one). It's one thing to coast and conserve energy and another to completely melt down and not trust anyone even if nobody is making any open shots (he was visibly upset by all the bricked open shots). The funny thing is that he was playing really well until then, letdown and controlling the pace of the game. Then ONLY positive from him is that it's apparent he can go in and rebound if he wants to which we will need with Andy out. At this point, it's really hard to tell what the hell James is doing.

6. Our lack of athletes is glaring out there. Non-contending teams have players on their bench rotations that would get burn for us. It's honestly really worrisome seeing this night in and night out.

7. Don't know how long Haywood can last but he's a big body who can defend some and box out (he actually bodied Drummond up). He needs more PT.

This game is what you call a fluke. Jennings was hitting turn around threes, every other scrub was knocking down threes, Drummond was beasting after getting three fouls in the first 6 minutes. Likewise Cavs' shots weren't falling and they got demoralized. We also had three of our best players out in this (Irving, Marion and AV). Flukes happen but it is not a reflection of the strength of this team. Last I checked we were 18-12 and we've beaten a lot of good teams this year (Toronto twice, Washington once, Memphis once, etc). Relax!

Not so fast my friend, no such thing as a 20 point loss at home that is a fluke especially since we've seen this before.

With the exception of a handful of truly great teams like the 72-10 Bulls, every good team has multiple losses like this every season. Look at the Spurs or Heat schedule last year for example.

So thankful this holiday season that I forgot the cavs were playing today.

To think I could have watched this tragedy of a game (shivers).

I want someone fired. Fuck Blatt. We are wasting time with Lebron in his prime with a Euroball coach that has no fucking clue what is going on

This isn't Blatt's problem, LeBron and the front office should be taking most of the blame. It's a catch 22, we're better off with LeBron but actually getting him into the Cavs and getting us in a position to succeed is gonna be a bitch. LBJ can't really play in a system. Best we can really do I think is surround him with good defenders and talent just like Miami did. And that does work, problem is Cavaliers front office can't get that done.

5-5 in the last ten.

done with this 13 and whatever nonsense. The stats dont back up what we see. We are not playing well against bad teams.

There's some fluke to it and some that's not. The not trusting each other and the team as a whole and melting down we have seen before. The wide open missed threes that could have extended the lead to 20 and their chucked threes that went in were flukey.

The biggest problem is that this team knows its roster isn't good enough and that they as a whole aren't good enough to win while playing badly and so they panic and often time just say "Fuck it." That's not flukey and that's scary.

This game itself isn't the biggest deal because as I said, a difference of say three shots (two wide open makes from Love or Miller or James and one miss from Detroit off of a chuck) turns the entire first half and gsme around and nobody here is melting down. We saw the Hawks lose by 30 at home to thenBucks by doing everything wrong and every Bucks's shot falling and then they came back the next night and beat the Bucks in Milwaukee.

Lots of fluke in this particular game and how it unfolded but some of the worst signs of the team still not beleiving in itself, the roster sorely lacking, team falling apart, etc., which really gives a fan pause.

I find it funny that the same people in the beginning of the season that were saying we were a championship contender are the same ones saying wait until next season. Really? write off the season? We failed to put together enough talent around Lebron and Irving even given countless trade assets and picks, and somehow its not the front offices fault
