Game 30 | Warriors @ Cavs | Sunday, December 29, 2013 | 6:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Have to beat the Warriors when Thompson and Curry combine to go 15-39. Have to.

At least we protected home court early. Not even doing that now. But at least this was moral win #5 or so!!!

The most.critical possession of Tyne game they had Kyrie stand it the opposite corner and was not involved in the play. And on at least one of he drives he was fouled with no call.

Awesome, that has nothing to do with your post about him getting the ball "twice in OT" does it...

Can someone tell our perimeter players they are allowed to get rebounds? So many games we lose the rebounding battle and I look, and they have a guard with like 8+ boards and we have no one close. Thompson and CUrry combined for 13 boards. Our starting back court? 2. Same shit yesterday as well. Kyrie, Miles, normally Waiters just ball watch when the shot goes up. You'll see Thompson and Varejao competing with 4 guys for a board.

How? The shots he took were shots he normally makes. Yeah his offense was sub-par tonight but at least he knew when to defer to Kyrie in OT and he didn't let his bad shooting night affect his defensive effort. It was a rough night, sure. But there is more to a basketball game than just scoring the ball.

His defense looked okay last year too.

A huge struggle for Waiters during the bad part of last season was scoring the ball efficiently. He'd have these 2-12 games where he just looked embarrassing and this game reminded me of those. Was also really sloppy with 5 turnovers.

That was an awesome game to be at. Another close loss though :/

Kyrie was fouled. Was not called. If it was Lebron and he took a jumpshot we will beg him to attack and draw a foul. Kyrie did the right thing and attacked and was actually fouled.

I'm not blaming Kyrie. I'm just saying he definitely did get his chances late in that game, unlike what k14 said.

Also, the refs weren't calling a lot inside. We didn't adjust well to it.

Finally went to a game this year.

Great game. Dion was off all night. Gave up too many wide open shots. Kyrie was great again. Should've gotten a few more looks with Green guarding him at the end.

We're not getting an SF this season and that's what no one gets. We're gonna suffer all the way til next summer.

A small forward not named LeBron, regrettably. Gilbert and Grant f'ed that one up good. The Cavs needed to get this rebuild right, and they f'ed it up.

its nice to see us complaining about close loses instead of blowouts. now to get to the point when we complain how we could of won better

They never had a chance at getting LeBron. Some of you guys man. Feels like you might still believe in Santa Claus too.

They just didn't have a good opportunity to acquire one. Barnes was the only realistic option but I am glad they chose Waiters instead. They signed Clark but it doesn't seem like Mike Brown trusts him after the 1st quarter.

They could have paid for one. They didn't want to. Martell Webster could have been had.

But they obviously chose to preserve cap space. Other than Jack, the last two seasons of FA signings have been geared to clearing the cap this summer. Probably not gonna work out very well, in the end.

And that's another point. People need to understand that there is a reason CJ Miles is playing for nothing on one year deals, and Earl Clark is (basically) on a 1 year deal. And so was Bynum. And Gee was on a minimal deal. No one else wanted these guys. We've got a bunch of vets on one-year deals not because we are geniuses who scooped up all of the best talent before anyone realized it, but because they just aren't very good players and no one else wanted to pay them money.

Which goes back to what I said a couple of days ago. It's clear to me now that Grant and Gilbert only wanted to make the playoffs if all of the young guys could carry the load. They weren't nearly as serious about it as the Pistons, who spent big bucks on a big veteran player, or Charlotte, who did the same, or Washington, who made a move two years ago for a big time, highly paid player, and then traded for another one this year. Those teams COMMITTED to the playoffs. We did not. We just kind of hoped Irving and Waiters and Thompson were going to be really, really, really good, and that they wouldn't need all that much help.

I was talking specifically about 'hero ball' everyone complains about hat actually gives us our best chance to win.
