Take off that LSU hoody shaq. Its a sensitive subject.

I don't think that play had any affect on the outcome of the game. "IMO" I don't think they were aware of the shot clock when BIbby/Smith ran that play. The play/shot didn't seemed rushed at all. If the shot was made it would have not been pointed out, but after we got possession then they wanted to complain. I don't feel any less about this win because it was earned.

The problem is it's up to the league to decide on this matter and they aren't going to look back at video and try to determine who they think was or was not aware of the shot clock and whether it affected them or not, they are either just going to ignore it(which they do with many other time errors in games, but this one was just a little more crucial) or have it replayed from the point of the shot clock error.

lol @ Mo SPRINTING for the rebound:chuckles:

Also, did anybody else see a Hawks coach/trainer that looks EXACTLY like Ben Roethlisberger? I was like "Damn, the recession is hitting Big Ben hard!"

Hey, Fate owes Cleveland sports fans a couple of decades worth of the long end of the stick.

Honestly, the Hawks may have a solid case....
...but IMHO, they're making a deal of "shot clock gate" because
1) Josh Smith missed his shot miserably, and
2) The Hawks felt sick inside from squandering their lead in the first place.

I often hate to hear teams gripe about referee issues in games; not because referees are perfect--since they obviously are not. But my feeling (in any sport for that matter) is to avoid allowing a game to get so close late into it where one simple referee or clock error becomes a supposed "that cost us the game" matter--especially if you had a golden opportunity to close a game out beforehand (and that goes for the Cavs too).

The bottom line is that the Hawks blew a solid lead to even get to the point where the clock or Andy's lovely shot mattered.

Then after Andy's sniper moment, the Hawks employed a silly strategy with 17 seconds left to (I guess) salvage the game, and (ironically) wasted clock time to strictly go for a 3-point shot....as if they just threw up their hands and said "whatever". What happened to the late-game strategy of scoring a quick two and then going for the steal or foul ? (I'm glad they did it, but it was a silly strategy IMHO.)

Morals of the story:
1) Close games out when you have big leads (Cavs please take heed)
2) Don't give any Cavs (other than Shaq) shots for 3's late. :)
3) Happy Birthday LeBron

This game was just as cool as the one on Christmas day.

If only every day could be Xmas or Lebron's birthday.

That was interesting..I thiought the refs might start the play over again..but they didn't..the Hawks did blow their lead but the Cavs seemed disinteresred from the start.

The NBA has to look at if the Hawks were aware of it or not. That's the entire basis of their complaint to begin with. They claim it forced them to play the possession faster so of course the NBA has to look at all things. I contend that if the Hawks did in fact know the clock was wrong, where was the timeout to stop play? If the Hawks would have scored before the shot clock was out, would they now be upset? Hell no.

I'm telling you Boobie hit a 3 at the 9:40 mark and it only counted as 2, let's protest that too.

Just watched this game late, every time I watch a game it just reinforces the fact in my mind that JJ is not meant to be a basketball player. The guy can't even catch the ball, and he gets blocked every time he tries to shoot. I really don't see what you guys all see in him. I try to like him but I just can't do it.

I get that he's young, but if I have to watch a rebound fall through his hands and hit him in the head and lose it one more time, I'm pulling my hair out.
