Dion Waiters did really well tonight, even with me razzing him about his 18 foot jumpers after he was getting every call inside. 4 assists, had another couple passes that should have been layups for Zeller, that he bobbled or missed, no turnovers. He didn't shoot terribly well (4-11) but made up for it at the FT line, making that clutch 3 towards the end of the game, and going off in the 4th.

If Dion/Kyrie would play all 4 quarters like they're in a dog fight and in the 4th quarter, I think we'd be really dangerous.

Also, of the 4 teams that played on the road last night, the Cavs were the only ones that won. The Knicks were @ Charlotte, no huge surprise there. The Kings were @ Indiana, again no shock that Indiana holds court. But the Thunder were @ Memphis. My point is, it's hard to win on the road, take it and be happy.
 
I know I'm late on this, but I just watched the game.

Phew.

I'll take any win though! Especially on the road.
Dion was HUGE in the fourth, which was HUGE as Kyrie sat with foul trouble (Hope Irving isn't getting into a bit of a funk again, by the way). And dang... Deng was on tonight. Without him, with Clark/Gee/Guards taking the brute of his minutes, I doubt we would have won. Really liking his chemistry with Andy. Seems like Andy has found him on at least one cut every game he's been here. And his defense on Young? I think he threw Nick off a bit. Yes, he hit some shots while Deng was on him, but they weren't good shots (not many of Young's shots are though :p)

My Staples Center Recap:

Talked with Jack for 1 second. Hi, how you doing bye.
Talked with The Game. Same convo.
There are ugly old men with trophy wives/girlfriends. Saw 3x.
Their entertainment during timeouts is always The Lakers Girls. They don't throw shirts or try to keep the fans involved.
Dion was at shoot around really early. Kyrie came out last.
Deng refused to sign a Bulls hat someone offered towards him.
People around me complained about Andy and TT's energy.
I took a picture with Ally Cliffton (on her phone) that she said she was going to post on her Twitter. I do not see it.
TT acknowledged me and gave me a high five.
I got a Delly Towel thrown to me.
I missed Kyrie's jersey by a half a foot. But you should have seen the look on the little kid's face that got the jersey. He said "OMG!!!" With the biggest smile, then yelled "DAD!!! and took off.
Chris Grant was standing near me the whole time. These are the small subtle remarks (Made sure CG could hear) I made the whole time.
"No Earl Clark, nooo" "There you go Dion way to drive and get to the hoop for the calls" "O wow Dion really is getting calls" "Dion take over the game now that Kyrie is stting" "God it is so nice having a real SF".

Fun Fun experience.

As superior as Kyrie is on offense, I almost wonder if we wouldn't be better off with Dion as the leader of the team. Imagine you have the work ethic Dion does, the drive to be better, and you're the one who gets benched for making mistakes, when Kyrie slacks off at shoot around and plays no defense, no wonder Dion sulks. I feel like Dion's a more natural leader than Kyrie, despite Dion's lack of maturity at times.

I'm probably reading too much into Kyrie's late showing to the shoot around, it's possible he had something hold him up, or that it's not a regular thing, but if it is...
 
Even though the Cavs won, I secretly hoped that Kobe would give the DEATH STARE across the bench so that Chris Grant would see it.
