Game 39 | Cleveland @ Portland | January 10, 2010 | 9:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm telling you, the Jamario Moon injury can be a blessing in disguise.

Agree 100%.

If we get to "discover" Jawad during this time, get Moon back at full health (hopefully for the year) and get to trade JJ for part of a package, this Moon injury could end up a godsend.

A harder fought game than necessary but a win is a win and I will take it. I thought despite that lul by them in the 3rd, they gave more effort and energy tonight than in Denver. We are currently the one seed after this game.

LBJ could have stopped that run in the 3rd numerous times. He played the entire 3rd and scored 4 pts and watched as his team struggled to score. Then was lazy on defense for stretches.

LBJ shared the blame with AV and Mo for sucking that quarter. He didn't score 31 because the Trailblazers were doing something different defensively. He changed his game.

When LBJ is in complete attack mode nothing can stop him from scoring.

I have only seen a couple teams capable of stopping LBJ in attack mode.
Bos when completely healthy, SA in the 2007 NBA finals, and the Houston Rockets with Battier and Yao. Howard does a great job at stopping the drive as well.

You don't have a clue. I'm tired of debating you, but I'd just ask you to take a step back and think about what you're stating. You need to get a grip.

W&G said the cavs were considering going to Jawad over JJ to start a couple weeks back.

We seriously have no idea how lucky we are to have Varejao. He may have blown several buckets but look how many times he is open for them. He practically became a first option there for a stretch without anything being called for him. He imposed his will defensively as well and gave Roy some fits as he was trying to set up on the perimeter. Every missed shot was more than made up for with pure hustle and determination. I want to brush his hair for him as a token of my affection.

Very good bounce back win. Not a very good 3rd quarter, but it just goes to show that we have the ability to play through adversity in a hostile environment.

Jawad hit some huge shots in the 4th.

Shaq was a force down low.

Lebron was Lebron.

Overall a good game that we pretty much dominated for the better part of 3 quarters.

Its true.

The guy has the skills of Jordan and Kobe with the body of a PF.

He can't be stopped offensively.

I can understand off shooting nights, but not many teams can stop his dribble drives.
Certainly not this Portland team without Oden or Joel in the middle.

LBJ could have stopped the runs in the 3rd, he played passive.

The recent LA and Hous games are great examples.

Does anyone else have Lebron on their ESPN fantasy team?

His stats wont update...is this just me?

Cavs just have to watch how they handle JJ right now. I can see how you would want to start Jawad with the way he has been playing recently. Although if Mike Brown kicks JJ to the doghouse, or even if his minutes significantly decrease, his trade appeal may severely diminish. We still have to keep J.J. on showcase for other teams, but we have to keep getting Jawad included on a regular basis too.

Who doesn't have a clue? Lebron DID indeed blow turds in that 3rd quarter, but he stepped up with passion on defense in the 4th. He kept the ball moving for the most part in the 4th as well.

Well; the Cavs did have that bad 3rd and blew a 17pt lead, but I'll take the win. Good hustle and desire in the 4th.

Portland is going to be a VERY tough out for whoever they play in the playoffs.

This was a good win in a tough arena. I've attended games at the Rose Garden before when I lived in the Portland area, and I was impressed how much like the old Richfield Colliseum the place felt. They're the only game in town, and the fans can get really loud and raucus. Nice win.

Do we have a gif. of LeBron's ridiculous jump???

Jawad has made 5 jumpers outside the paint.

JJ has 13 makes outside the paint.

Does Jawad pass JJ on this trip?

Friday: Blazers 107 - Lakers 98

Sunday: Cavs 106 - Blazers 94

I know the Cavs had various issues tonight, but they won a road game in a hostile environment and played tough down the stretch. I'm finding it hard to worry about the details.

I just hope they can get through the track meet at GS on the back-to-back, especially after LeBron and Mo played huge minutes tonight. That will be a different kind of challenge.

I can't think of one thing that JJ does well right now. He cannot start in a playoff series right now, which means the Cavs need to find out who can. Giving Jawad a go might be an option. Waiting for Powe is another option. But JJ needs to be phased out soon. Sucks, because JJ's athletic and we all expected big things from him, but he's a liability. JJ doesn't have it up top. Maybe he'll get it, but he's light years away.
