Game 4 | Cavaliers VS Bobcats | October 31, 2009 | 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Boobie has been looking better on the defencive end as well. He doesn't look as lost as last season. I'm liking todays bench hustle. I'm still not sure who I'd rather have come off the bench. Maybe Delonte would make more sense because he can handle the ball better than AP.

The problem with Moon isn't his talent level, his effort, his defense or even attitude. If he continues to camp out at the 3pt line and jacking up shots, then he can keep his ass on the bench for all I care. It's ridiculous that someone that athletic wants to sit out there all day and try to hit threes.

Sure, let's throw him the ball and see him create a shot with it. Let's see him dribble it around and go to the hoop strong, just like LeB-

Wait, he can't do that because he can't DRIBBLE. The only other thing he can really do is get alley oops all day, assuming the players who threw them knew how to do it correctly...

And since Moon and LeBron share the same position most of the time, that means small ball is when they'll be able to do that.

Right now, he really doesn't fit in that well anywhere, perhaps he'll get better with some more time passing by... We'll see, but Moon can't do much without dribbling ability. He probably can be used when we need to play defense on the Paul Pierces, Rashard Lewises, the Lamar Odoms, etc. That's it right now...

Im pretty sure Lebron has taken more 3pt attempts than Vince Carter since like 05-06.

Incorrect. Vince has taken more over that period.

However over that period LeBron has shot over 1000 more free throws.

Moon is just not a very good basketball player, he is going to be this year's Kinsey.

I disagree with both of your statements. Moon IS a good basketball player if your standards for him are right.

The standard for Jamario is playing tight defense on superstar scorers, catching oops, blocking shots and hitting a few threes. All in all...he's a good role player. He's has a shitty start, but that doesn't mean he won't pick it up with time. He will, and most likely when someone else gets injured.

I'd say for the role he plays, he's like a 7/10 at it.

He's also significantly better than Kinsey and he will end up getting more playing time than Kinsey once he starts to fit in a little better out there or when the dreaded injuries start to come into play.

How often in history has a team used a ten man rotation? hm. Maybe never? As it stands right now, unless Andy is the center and we go small, Moon is that tenth man. It's not a matter of Moon not being any good, or Moon not fitting in at all. It's a matter of taking minutes away from someone else to give them to Moon. Why would we do that? Moon will contribute greatly when we play teams who run and gun, like the Knicks coming up. Phoenix is another example. We simply cannot be set in any firm rotation as each game/team is different. We play according to the opposition. Any great team knows her personnel and will play to that personnel. Another thing that certainly comes into play is the fact Moon is new. He's new to the system and hasn't had as much time to show what he's got with our core group. Shaq and Parker have had that time and it's very clear as to how they are fitting.

This isn't a matter of Moon not being good, but a matter of total minutes for players in a game, and a matter of using a rotation that will fit the opponent and any particular situation in a game. The Cavs are very deep this year. Would Moon be the tenth man on any other team?....hmm, I don't think so. This is a good thing. The fact we have nine other players who need minutes and deserve minutes is a damn great thing.

I don't think he is that good defender, I definitely don't see him shutting down anybody of significance. Taking ill advised jumpers he sucks at to begin with was one of the major things Raptors and Heat fans were criticizing him for constantly from what I've read, I'm not sure it will change here from what I've seen so far. He is not a smart basketball player. He may be slightly better than Kinsey but all in all he will play almost as insignificant role on this team, imo, since his contributions on the court will be very minimal.

Some of you idiots didn't like Parker at the start and are now growing to appreciate what he brings (or are bandwagon fans once he started making shots). How can you pass judgement 4 games into the season. In that retrospect, Shaq sucks too because he is a starter that can't even score into double digits. He's going to shut you negative Nancy boys up once and for all. You guys don't deserve to watch basketball, and this is where the IQ test (to register onto the forum) should come in.

I'm with kookoo on this .... I went to both home games and I'm not sure his presence translates on TV. Everyone seems to focusing on the box score numbers and I don't think that tells the whole story.

Yesterday there had to be 4-5 times when a gaurd attempted to drive to the basket only to have to underneath the hoop and dribble it back out to the three point line because the gaurd had no interest in challanging Shaq. The few times that he was challanged the opponent was forced to adjust their shot or they are fouled hard. That doesn't include Shaqs blocks.

His offensive numbers are down, to my untrained eye, he seems to be rushing his hook shot abit. Once he slows it down, he'll be averaging double digits for the rest of the year.

This guy is a huge asset, I think once the team gels, this team could be better defensively than any other Cavs team during the LeBron era and Shaq will be a big reason why that is possible.

It doesn'nt matter who is starting or isn't... Delonte and Mo should be with 2nd unit and then Delonte stays in the game with Mo taking a breather. Delonte 30-35 mpg is exactly in line with last year. He should be in there in the 4th quarters as well.

We do however have to see how he is playing after a few more games. He is decidedly thinner after his problems this summer. It shouldn't be a problem but Delonte has always had issues with keeping weight on going all the way back to college.
