Game 40 | Cavaliers @ Lakers | January 15th, 2015 @ 10:30 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting on that play that Blatt put the ball into Irving's hands, used Love to get the ball to LeBron, and had LeBron go one-on-one against a defender who couldn't get help.

I was expecting a pure ISO play, but there was a little action leading to it.
He has drawn up a few good plays in big situations. (see Chi when Kyrie initially got pissed)

Agreed. That was a beautiful play. We haven't seen as many recently (I'm thinking of Dellavedova having to improvise vs. Philly).

Some of you need to get off this delusion that we're instantly going to be a better team tomorrow. Even with a win, we're still letting the Lakers get back into this. Literally one of the worst teams in the league. It's nice to have a 2015 W, but if we play like this against good teams, it's going to be over very quickly.

I don't think optimism is that terrible of a thing. A win is a win, and given the circumstances, something to be very happy about. I haven't seen anyone say - because we're beating the lakers that we're going to win it all.

I know the Lakers suck, but they have beaten some quality opponents - Spurs, Raptors, Rockets, Warriors, Hawks. And we're playing on their home court.

Why can't we be happy for like...12 hours?

Feels good to win again and nice to see our D step up in the second half even if it was against the Lakers

The defensive effort in the 2nd half is something to build on. Guys getting used to each other, being in the right spot, doing the right things. If we get a bit more consistent, we'll go back to playing top 15 defense which is all we need to cruise through the season. Up it a bit in the playoffs and we're golden.

Until the last 4 minutes, the Cavs defense in the 2nd half was really encouraging. Loved how Mozgov made a difference, as IBWT mentioned upthread. The team let down near the end, but it's a road victory so I'm not going to complain.

LeBron is not correct in his interview that they have played good basketball for the last 6 quarters. They played viable basketball in both second halves. The first half tonight was lazy and uninspired after that opening push. I mean that looked the final nail in Blatt's coffin until they switched the defensive scheme at halftime and increased their effort against a weak team.

Yeah while I would not say amazing effort one D I will say that is how it should be against teams like the Lakers. It was a good effort and got a win. Love got a big charge taken and a big steal. Kyrie had a few nice close outs T.T even with a big block.

I've been on the Wiggins bandwagon since 2012 (check the aviation & sig), but even I have let go. He will be a beast, but true fans ride or die with their team.

I disagree I think that true fans are knowledgeable about their team and the game. They want what is best for their team and for them to win. Perhaps complaining about moves that have already been made is counterproductive to a degree I'll give you that. But I believe that a fan ought to question management when they are starting to make moves which could jeopardize the franchise that they love. Would you not question the caregivers of a grandparent at a nursing home if you believed that they are mismanaging his or her treatment? Or would you blindly trust that they know what they are doing and merely support the grandparent? Griffin is no genuis. He didn't graduate suma cum laude from Harvard with an advanced degree in statistics. He is just some average guy that granted worked hard and met the right people.
