Game 41: Dallas Mavericks @ Cleveland Cavaliers | January 20th, 2014 | 1 PM [EST]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What do you expect when Mike Brown gets brought up in Lebron interviews? Have you ever heard Lebron bash a former coach or teammate? You probably won't ever hear Lebron bash a former coach or teammate.

Also, Lebron comes out and bashes people with a tongue in cheek type way. He takes little cheap shots. You just actually have to pay attention to what he is saying.

I believe he was taking a cheap shot at Durant the other day when he was making a comment about how much he shoots the ball and he couldn't imagine what he could do with that many shots.

This loss today left me with a sour taste that I still have, because obviously we played good enough to win in the 2nd half but we came out flat and a step behind. Also, we came allll the way back and had a couple chances late but we just couldn't pull all the way ahead. Sour taste, can't wait for the next game to get a W against the Bulls.

1:00 start times have not been Cav friendly this season.

This game just shows why we need to learn how to win this year. These are the game you need to win if you are a title contender. Granted some wanted to tank, but with out the Deng trade we would not have been close.

I agree, we have to start winning sometime and I don't want to spend next year trying to win AGAIN. Start learning this year and we will be ready opening night next season

Excuses have been our best ally so far.

Wasnt an Excuse. It was an observation. one which several Cavs beat reporters did follow ups on . it takes a bunch of young guys out of their routine and they often find themselves out there with no legs. Cavs did a much better job this game than the first.

Brown also mentioned before the game that coming off these road trips can be a letdown. and it was but the Cavs fought through it.

Im hard pressed to find any observation or comment regarding a game that cant be called or labeled an "excuse"

I could say Cavs lost. didnt have it in them to pull out the win.

Cavs lost to a better team.

etc

all excuses.

Hard to decipher because they all started laughing and commenting at once..

But the TNT crew, Chuck, Shaq, and Webber clowned that final play.

CWebb: "gotta get the ball in!" something about "harlem globe trotters"/"real play"(?), something like "nobody went to the ball", and "wow"

Shaq: "they don't want that ball", "They don't want that pressure" (I bet Kyrie wanted it, and Dion would have liked it) "geez"

Chuck: "What kind of PLAY is that?" "none of these guys are moving!" "look at that, three guys are just standing there!" "man.." "look on the bright side, another ping pong ball"

Ernie: "What a way to loose"

And no, Kyrie wasn't really open except for a risky touchdown pass that Carter might have intercepted.

He likely was. There's a reason why "LeISO" was a thing...

So I just got a chance to watch this game for the first time.

First of all they played fantastic in the second half and that verticality call against Varejao was absolutely atrocious. That a was a swing call, no doubt. Fact is though, should never have had to have it come down to that. Can't sleepwalk the first half.

But regarding everyone saying Kyrie wasn't really open, that's not true. I watched that play at least 10x, and the issue was Jack not throwing the ball when he was supposed to. Kyrie wasn't "open" when he found his spot and waved for the ball. He was open when he started curling around the corner, and the pass should have been already in the air.

Blame Brown for not putting a taller inbounder in the play. Blame him for not having a viable second option. But if that pass is thrown at the right time, Kyrie gets a real good look. Jeff Green beat the Heat on similar play earlier this year. Look at when the ball was thrown. The pass was in the air before Green ever broke away from the free throw line. THAT'S when Jack was supposed to throw it. Not after Kyrie was settled into the spot.

Hah, I just posted the same exact video in the Mike Brown thread, as the last play was also being discussed there. ;)
