Game 41: Dallas Mavericks @ Cleveland Cavaliers | January 20th, 2014 | 1 PM [EST]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That road trip did nothing to give me any hope that Mike Brown can lead this team to the playoffs this season. We've only won 15 games!!!!! In those 15 games we struggled to win more than half of them.

What about all those close games we have lost? You expect this young team to win like a contender. Not going to happen.

Maybe you should call your boys Kyrie and Dion and tell them to start playing better too.

Dion Waiters looked like EASILY the second best player/point guard on this team when Brown had the ball in his hands with teh second team.

He was the best player on the floor in quite a few games since going to the bench and having the ball put in his hands...

The real question about Waiters play is, why would the Cavs change that and put him off the ball with Jack after he dominated on the ball without Jack?

I didnt see any.

I saw Kyrie say fuck this and take the game in his own hands and then his teammates followed. When they needed some assistance from the coach, he had Jarret Jack inbounding with Andy and Tristan both on the floor to help us get a 3pointer with 3.4 seconds left.

Tristan wasn't on the floor.

That's impossible. Mike Brown making the right call of putting the ball in Dions hands? No way he can make a good coaching call like that.

Ugh.
Missed free throws.
Terrible first half effort.
Several blown calls...
Heck of a second half effort.
Yet again, had a chance to tie (Pacers game), yet again, failed to even get a shot up.

Earl... Clark... was -17 when he was on the court. In NINE minutes. Just nine minutes. Really the whole bench was pretty bad, but that is standing out to me.

It doesn't matter who we win with. I just want to win.

Lebron gives us the best chance with this team.

Mike Brown gives us the WORST chance to get LeBron back.

Who wants to play for a Neanderthal coach?

You ever heard how praise Lebron gives Mike Brown?

What do you expect when Mike Brown gets brought up in Lebron interviews? Have you ever heard Lebron bash a former coach or teammate? You probably won't ever hear Lebron bash a former coach or teammate.

When the Cavs first rehired Mike Brown, Lebron was the first to tweet how smart a move it was for the Cavs because Mike Brown is a great coach. No one had asked Lebron before that point.

But let's not remember that because it's something good to say about Mike Brown.

Like I've said all along, I've had/have my issues with Mike Brown but the blind hatred for this guy is crazy. Everyone on the forum acts like they can do better. Funny it's always after the fact and hindsight is 20-20 right? The guy never gets any credit when shit is going right. I don't understand that.

Of our 15 wins this year how many of them were the result of Mike Brown's in game coaching and how many off it was a result of Players taking matters into their own hands

None of them. He never put the right players on the floor. Never drew up any plays for them to run. It was all the players all the time.

But all of our losses are his fault. I get it.

I'll stop with any facts or opinions that are positive about Mike Brown.

Pros:
We competed in the second half of a game we weren't supposed to win
We nearly pulled it off being down 7 points with 10 seconds left (last I saw)
Some of our players are truly coming into their own (Tristan) as game changers

Cons:
We f#cked up a first half of basketball with crap
Some of our best guys were mucking it up with some (questionable) shots
Some of our worst guys were negative space
Some of the important pieces mailed it out apparently (there's always a method to Brown's madness)

What I can take from this:
This team we faced was a decent team who managed to be a playoff contender all these years
We had come directly from a road trip on the west, specifically from Denver, almost acting like a 6th road game, for lack of better word
We need to work on various parts of our execution, our D has gotten worse, our in-bounds plays are killing us, and we desperate need a spark from the bench besides Dion, since both big men were in the -10s

I'm not going to say it was a good or bad game, I let future games speak for themselves.

yes, absolutely. I guess you missed the "I wanted to team up with some guys that would never die down in the moment." quote.
