Game 43: Bucks @ Cavs, Friday, January 24, 2014, 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What sentence? The part wanting Nerlens to look like a number 1 pick? Because that is a criticism of Grant's inability to scout.

Can someone else explain this thought process?

It seems like insane troll logic but I don't want to be hasty.

Zeller looked pretty good imo 8 pts 3 blks 9 boards in 21 minutes.

Serious question. Where the hell are you guys seeing this talent? I see a very awkward, undersized kid that doesn't look all that quick despite his lack of size and shows no shooting touch.

Is the talent that everyone sees primarily in the youtube clips still? Because I see nothing on the court.

I'm not trying to be a dick and pile on. I see this said a lot so I want someone to walk me through exactly what it is they just saw on the court that screamed "talent." I'm missing it.

He is thinking too much and moving too fast. He will catch up to the game speed. The talent was there at UNLV, in pre-season, and flashes in games. His jumper will eventually falls and with his size, he can be a force in the post.

Remember when Tristian and Zeller were busts in year one. Large improvement occurs between years 1 and 2.

This is what I'm talking about. Where in games have you seen flashes?

I was pretty hard on Tyler Zeller last year. But I saw way more in game potential from him than we've seen from Bennett. At least with Zeller you saw a guy who would run the floor, take a charge, and had a decent enough pick and pop jumper. Things you could point to in the games themselves and say "ok, if this guy makes it in the league, he will do it with these tools." I can't point to one thing from Bennett.

Man the Bucks stink. We shoot 42% and still win big.

Orlando, pre-season. Only game I can think of off the top of my head. I think Bennett needs to see a sports psychologists, a lot of athletes do. He seems to need it.

The problem is TT has shown since his first year his strength as a rebounder and a hustle guy. Tyler's predicament is his strengh but he does pretty well in rotating in defense and showing some mid range game. Bennett has not seen glimpse of that talent. He has been losing the ball, he jacks up shots, missing lay ups and dunks.

Yes. Would explain why he was generally seen as a top-5 pick.

That doesn't matter. If the argument is "he's too talented to keep playing like this" well, top 5 picks flame out all the time. Maybe not to this level, but every year you'll have a guy who is drafted high and, at best, becomes a rotation level player.

Well we do need a rotation level player at the back up 4.

That we do. But he's got to make a Grand Canyon sized-leap next season just to become that. Future All-Star is like a leap across the galaxy.
