Cleveland is slowly but surely figuring this thing out and its showing glimpses of just how good this squad can be. I could go on and on about the individual offensive match ups tonight but I got to go team-wide when it comes to that brilliant offense.
At one point, the lead was at 49. That is hard to be up that much on another professional basketball team and I felt Cleveland made the step in the right direction without removing their foot off the pedal because in the past, this would have gotten down to 15 or so at one point. That offense in the first half was amazing to witness, at one point they went on a 14-0 run in an overall 24-4 spurt. I also knew this squad had to fasten the game up to be consistently dominating and that was evident tonight with 27-9 in the fastbreak category.
Good intro for Shumpert. He defended and looked good on offense. Mosgov is the real gem in my eyes and JR is light years more consistent than Waiters. Griffin looking like a genius right now, for sure.
I got to say, I am kind of getting fed up with the type of coverage Fox Sports Ohio is doing with Cavaliers games. I am consistently seeing shaky camera work throughout the games when one particular cameraman decides to zoom in. If you can’t transition smoothly then don’t do it. Simple concept yet lost. Also just the lack of fundamental direction for the telecast, showing highlights of plays we just saw, a close up of a player or anything else that completely misses a significant amount of time in a play. For example, it’s a jump ball. How the hell do you come back from commercial and not show that? Come on. I brought this up in the last game thread but its becoming more and more consistent as the season goes on.
