Dan said we were going to make the playoffs. He didn't say it was the goal, he said it would happen.
Yeah, the whole "ultimatum" bit is overplayed. He said 3rd year of 3 year plan. I think the plan has gone well, we've got loads of young talent, but they need molded into winners, and that's going to take time. Especially since the best player on the team is allergic to defense.
I find it... odd that Dion played the most minutes (36) and had a +/- of 0, whereas Kyrie played 35 minutes and had a +/- of -16. Defense is key, guys, and Mike Brown is improving these guys on defense, but has a long ways to go, especially with Kyrie.
If I was Mike Brown, I'd put Dion in the starting lineup and have him guard whomever is initiating the offense and have Kyrie guard the other guard. Sure, Kyrie's man would be wide open on curls, but at least we'd have reasonable defense at the point of attack.
We really need a rim protector, and as much as I'm a fan of Tristan, watching the pick and roll defense carefully last night, he really isn't helping as much on defense as I'd like to think he is (but he also had the toughest guy to guard, so there's that).
