Game 58 Cleveland at Detroit

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Another thing I liked is how Smith realized this is not his night and didn't force himself. He passed it to the hot hand when needed and gave his best on D. I would never think I would see such a responsible performance from him.

Perhaps my favorite aspect of the game...watching Smith cheer on Delly from the sidelines, who was basically taking all of minutes at that point...i have no words. Smith has done a complete 180 since he joined our team. Must be something in the Lake Erie water.

I think it is this guy called LeBron. He seems to have that effect when players know he wants to be here.

Good win.

Unfortunately, Andre Drummond is the next Dwight Howard and he'll be in our division for the next ten years.
Andre Dummond does some things really well.

But A: his defense is overrated by people who equate great interior defense with Blocked Shots only and B: I'm just not sure how a team can with him playing in the final 6 minutes of a conference championship or NBA finals game. There's time for him to improve his FT shooting but that stuff matters big time in 7 game playoff series.

Well, just for comparison, the first season Dwight started all 82 games his Ortg/Drtg was 111/104. The first season Andre started all 82 games his Ortg/Drtg was 121/104.

Not going to touch Drummond's FT%. Not even Dwight was that bad. Ever.

Fantastic game. Shows how far we've come. First half of the year we would've laid down and lost by 25+.
I was gonna say this myself but figured someone was gonna beat me to it. And as stated before in so many words, THIS is the type of game that shows if ur squad has championship mettle. On the road, gettin no calls, and opponent is hittin every damn thing they throw up and u stick with it and grind out a tough win against a quality team. With ur bench no less which is REALLY important cuz we're gonna need one of these dudes to come thru for us in a playoff game or two and these are the type of moments that give them the confidence to do so.

This game looked so familiar to ones the Cavs played in
the last couple of seasons.

Well, one big difference- Cavs are now the cat, not the
mouse.

Gotta give Detroit some credit, they're getting the most out of a limited roster, too bad they didn't get rid of josh smith earlier.

We really saw the value of Love stretching the floor here and it wasn't really tenable for Detroit to have a Monroe or Drummond on love or jones, so the matchup was either explioted or they were forced to sit one. They did a good job of keeping Kyrie out of the passing lanes, but we found other ways to win this one, namely, actually playing defense. After giving up 62 points in the first half and a mistake laden 2nd quarter, the starters came out with something to prove only allowing 12 points in the 3rd. It kind of messed the usual rotations up needing to play lebron longer in the 3rd, but I like how Blatt rode the hot lineup in the 4th, sitting 4 starters till about 5 minutes left when love and Kyrie came in.

TT was getting outmatched in the first half but the cavs made some adjustments after halftime. Perkins was totally lost out there but he joined the team today so I was surprised to see him at all. As much crap as has been said, he was the best realistic option, and really, before the trade dealine, not really a realistic option. I see him filling the 4th big role and playing against bigger teams or times when Mozzy is in fouls trouble.

The Warriors matchup should be a good one, can't wait till Thursday
