Game 59 | Warriors (44-10) @ Cavs (36-22) | February 26, 2015 | 8:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Greg Brinda screaming about how the Cavs did not play good defense tonight and Warriors missed easy shots.

Sigh. Why do I listen? why?

Not a totally-unfair assessment, although we did a better job of challenging shots in the second half. On a night when neither team shot particularly well, we came out on top. That's a GOOD thing.

I live in S.F. and my friends are not liking me so much just now. I wasn't crowing, but I was smiling. A lot.

Warriors' thread for the game:
Refs suck
Refs suck
Refs suck
Cavs aren't that good
Refs suck
LeBron carried them
Refs suck
Refs suck
:chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

just post the gif of JR smith being called for the foul against curry on the 3 point shot, where smith didnt get within 6 inches of curry.

Bummed I missed the game thread tonight, but tonight was a game I had to full screen. Loved the game. I thought that of course LeBron was amazing but don't think he really did anything superhuman or that out of the norm for him and only played 36 minutes as well, so the fans of other teams crowing about us needing a superhuman performance from him were missing the mark. We also had to sit Kyrie for a stretch that he usually in the game and had that not happened, I think we were ready to push the lead out even further right when Kyrie went to the locker room.

Most importantly, what the doubters fail to acknowledge is a team like the Warriors are made of of a core roster that has played together for 3-4 years together already and a few guys that came on board last year. our whole team is new to each other. 4 of our top 9 guys(shump, moz, jr and eventually perkins) have not even been on the team for a full two months yet. So any opposing fanbase that thinks this was an example of the best we can do on either side of the ball is fooling themselves.

Also on Perk, I'm sure he's getting some hate for those two quicks offensive fouls but that pick he set on Curry to free up Kyrie for an open made jumper was textbook. Curry slid around the first pick but then on the second one, Perkins body is just so damn wide that Curry got swallowed up by it and Kyrie had the space he needed.

Aside from LeBron and Kyrie attacking the rim, which was huge (21 foul shots between them - more than the entire Warriors team), I thought the "role players" did a great job. Mozzy went for 10 and 10, challenging shots relentlessly. Thompson went for 12 and 8, with some great hustle-plays and some tough baskets. Shump and JR didn't score much, but contributed with defense, rebounding, and ball movement. The more I think about this win, the more I like it!

That kind of attitude does not bode well for the playoffs, where pressure and on the ball pressure has done them in before. You're on the road. So expect calls to go away from you. Play through it. The game was officiated like most playoff games are, tighter and slightly in favor of the home team. Luckily for the Warriors, they will likely have home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

And follow that up with LeBron getting tackled on the 3 point shot and no call

Defense was impressive tonight. Impressed by GS as they moved the ball around but even when they got an easy bucket usually the Cavs had fought off multiple ballswings and rotations already for most of the shot clock.

Glad I was able to be in person for this game tonight.

Felt like playoff atmosphere at The Q tonight. My gosh, I can't wait for the playoffs.

I don't care that LBJ thinks this isn't a statement game, this is a statement game and the Cleveland Cavaliers made one hell of a statement to the rest of the league.

It's always productive to gauge your team when playing the elites in this league and the Cavaliers showed the heart and hustle they were, quite frankly, missing to begin the season.

I am in no means seeing this as a sure sign of things to come, but it's fun to think about.

Of course, James was James. Dude can drop 40 on anybody in his sleep but the beauty of his play is he doesn't want to. He was clearly motivated and by the leader being amped, the entire squad followed suit.

Everyone is going to talk about LBJ and the Cavaliers' offense, I got to give it to the defense. Cleveland held Golden State to 38% from beyond the 3 arc, Curry to 18 points but that is skewed because he only had 6 after the first quarter and went 5-17 the entire time. Thompson only had 13 points too. Let's just say when Lee is your leading scorer, you aren't winning the game.

This game got me fired up and I just watched it on my couch.

Sole possession of the 3 seed, Toronto...Cleveland is coming for you.

I definitely think we can beat GS in a series. For me, it comes down to the fact hat we can just overwhelm them physically. Lebron can bruise up any SF they have and with Moz, even we if give up a little scoring, we can just keep playing them tough and wearing them down.

I just wasn't that impressed with the warriors d. Maybe it's just that the cavs are unguardable (to some extent they are), but the warriors d didn't play well.
