Game 60, Cavs @ Pistons, Tuesday, 17 April 2012, 7:30 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just want to point out that NONE of our bench players had a positive +/- before the 4th quarter. Getting to play against the end of Detroit's bench obviously helped that as we managed to shave 11 points off that 50 point lead. This, of course, was after Detroit had clearly let up in the 4th with that insurmountable lead.

You trying to imply that a starting line up at a collective =/- of higher than -40. was inconsequential and the bench should of been able to overcome this deficit?

Your coming to an end of a 66 game condensed schedule. 2 of your starters are over 35. You have a rookie pf starting at center, and the 1st round draft pick, who lost his starting job once already is put in the starter position.

but this loss is a result of the d leaguerass on the roster who did not have a real chance to impact the outcome of this game. They were already down by 15 before any substitutions were made.

has detroit suddenly become this much better than the Cavs?

This loss certainly wasnt the result of a lack of talent. this certainly wasnt the level of play that this team is capable of.

There was no excuse for this game. roster, talent, d leaguers, tanking. none of it justifies what happened in that game against division rival Detroit.

What it does show is that Detroit is much further ahead in their rebuild than the cavs and Brandon Knight sent us a clear FU Cavs.

Im not sure whether the team should be more embarrased about its performance or the fans who take glee in the loss.

I don't think any one of those things justifies the loss, but the roster, schedule woes, injuries, lack of talent, and D-leaguers all played their part. As did lack of effort and focus. Cavs have played competitively for 10 days. With everything piling up, they were very bad against the Magic and abominable against Detroit.

What it does show is that Detroit is much further ahead in their rebuild than the cavs and Brandon Knight sent us a clear FU Cavs.

Would you trade the Cavs potential going forward for Detroit's? Because of this game? Really? I like Detroit and think they will improve but I would not trade shoes. Not after one game. Remember the Pistons haven't had big injury problems and they have won 23 games so far. They were 4-20 and have played .500 since. Good turnaround but I wouldn't call their future dazzingly bright (and I like their young players a lot).

You constantly over-value the awful talent that fills most of the Cavs roster, and then come in and talk about how Detroit is much further along in the rebuild. I would call that flip-flopping. I don't think you can have it both ways.

Im not sure whether the team should be more embarassed about its performance or the fans who take glee in the loss.

I think the Cavs should be FAR more ashamed about their performance. How fans react (and they react differently, as proven in this thread) is a completely separate issue and it's not comparable. I also imagine that many "taking glee" in the loss could care less about the loss (or the point differential) and and are far more focused on the draft in the ending days of the year. Virtually no one wants to lose like that. But when it happens, what are you going to do?

No, I am trying to imply the whole team pretty much played like crap. The bench just as much. They just happened to be the bodies on the court during "garbage time" is the only reason they weren't well in the negative as well. Just like they were during the other three quarters of the game.

Doesn't show that at all. Just shows that Detroit has more veterans on their roster. Unless you really think Gordon, Prince, and Villanueva are going to take them to the promised land. That they haven't had to play as many games in as many nights. And, are not suffering as many injuries. I didn't notice any of their main pieces missing from the game. We had beaten them earlier in the year when we were healthy and better rested. Not having Kyrie, Andy, Boobie, and Alonzo makes a huge difference.

You are really over blowing this whole damn thing. This ridiculously tightened 66 game season has created a lot of abnormalities. Teams are being forced to play too many games in too few nights. Few off days for practices, or rest, resulting in increased number of injuries and worse play overall by the NBA.

This was just one game. One single loss. That is all. Nothing more to read into it. No big show. No Mr Knight shows the world. Nothing like that to read into it. And, you want to ignore the effect of the d-leaguers? Who do you think was guarding Mr Knight? Two d-leaguers.

I get attached because im a ticket holder. But still. WHAT THE FUCK.

Your whiny schtick is getting old. Need to realize, this isn't an NBA team we're putting out there. This is a D-league team with a rookie PF playing center. If we got blown out with Kyrie, Andy, Gee all starting and playing big minutes that's one thing. We're playing Donald Sloan, Lester Hudson, and Manny Harris.

It's year one of the rebuild, jesus. The fact that we've competed at all without Kyrie and Andy is a minor miracle. When the only reason we're winning is because of hustle, playing 6 games in 8 nights tends to have an effect.

Same lack of talent that beat detroit twice?

Scholar the Bench may have had a negative plus/minus at some point but that didnt change the fact it was the starters who put them in the hole and the starters who expanded on that hole considerably. . this bench unit has bailed out the starters many times this year. sometimes they are just not able to do so..

Gordon and Villanueva came of the bench. gordon played 15 and the villa 21. Neither was a big factor in the blowout.

Sloan did just as good a job guarding knight as Irving has. Jamison played lousy. Parker is too slow to play proper help defense at the 2. Casspi has no team defense and Jamison the only competent team defender on the starting squad doesnt have any individual defense.

I agree that the team played lousy as a team but to put it all on the guys with time in the d league is just excessive.

Sloan, Hudson, Samuels and Casspi are all competent rotational players.Im not sure how that is constantly overvaluing players.

These are young guys getting experience. who may be with the team for a bit longer than some would think

Your parents are season ticket holders. You are taking out your pent up sexual aggression on the Cavs for losing games.

When you buy the tickets, you can bitch. Until then, get on the tank.

Uh I'm glad I wasn't home to see the game but when I did get back at 9:15..I thought it was over?
Yeah it was over allright..way over..

I miss Kyrie. I know it's good that he is out the rest of the season but man at least he made the tank watchable. I wonder what our record would be if him and Andy played the whole year.

Do you think Dan Gilbert will refund my ticket to that pathetic display? No team should ever be down 50 to the Pistons, damn. Still can't believe I spent money to see this game...

Not sure Dan Gilbert is in the business of refunding tickets to arena's he doesn't own. That sounds like a bad business model.
