We just look better with Jack sitting and Delly playing. Even though Delly can't shoot straight, he shut down Hayward completely, and moves the ball. Spacing is better.

It would be such a travesty to lose him, when we finally have the ideal big man to play with Kyrie and Dion. He's perfect. He can spread the floor, great passer, has a nice running flip shot going to the hoop. Kyrie looks like a boy in the candy shop, so many more options. The dribble drive opens up, the pick and pop, he has MORE options out there.

It was a great trade by Griffin, because it put the pieces in place better. And like I also mention, Tristan would play better under Hawes. The guy has become the glue with some of the pieces that wasn't really gelling before.

Yeah this. We have had decent offensive nights before, but rarely defensive domination like this. Good effort on ball all night. Excellent rebounding effort.

We are playing four guys down, using the whole bench and really putting the clamps on. March will be tough, but the team is looking good at this point.
 
I'm pleased about this game as anyone, but we have to remember Utah's team is as much of a mess as we were earlier in the year. The next two weeks are the real test.

Utah just beat Phoenix by 23 on Wednesday and were 5-3 their last 8 games including a win over Miami. They weren't playing that bad.

I missed the guy running on the court - only saw him get carried off. What happened? Was it another dumbass wearing a "Please Stay, Kyrie" shirt? They're an embarrassment.

Otherwise, hell of a 2nd half that was. Kyrie's triple double was well deserved.

True shoes, but the defensive effort is the thing. I go back to the la game, and honestly LA is worse than utah. but we just did not compete. this was a different team tonight. A lot of hustle, fighting for rebounds, moving the ball.

Separate note: I was pretty impressed with hayward. He was really initiating everything. Jack could not stay in close to him. Delly slowed him down, but he was still getting penetration and that laser kick, just the other guys weren't knocking down those threes in the second half.

Utah plays a similar style of game that we do. Run & gun, struggles in the half-court, has defensive lapses. Our improved defense lately gives us the advantage over Utah...but Phoenix is exactly the kind of team I expect Utah to beat.

Our strategy for victory is the same. When we play uptempo ball, we play much better. Unfortunately most of the Eastern Conference playoff teams play a slower, more physical game.

Still doesn't change the fact that they've been playing pretty well as of late, and we ran them off the court the 2nd half.
 
Fun game to watch. Great ball movement and an uptempo style.
