Game 61 | Cleveland Cavaliers @ Memphis Grizzlies | March 1st, 2014 9:00 PM ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does that matter even a little?

It matters a little. It shows that as soon as the other team goes on a hot streak, we give up defensively.

What position does James Johnson play? What about Zach Randolph? Do you watch games? Or just not understand what you are seeing?

I just think it's funny people think AB is a better defender then TT.

Grass...meet greener on the otherside.

They're both power forwards. Tristan didn't play great defensively but it's insane to think AB would have fared much better. Zeller is a better defender than AB and he got torched even worse than TT.

I know people are butt hurt when someone talks bad about Tristian but his defense is a big reason why we lost this game.

Tristan has a hard time on that end of the floor especially against big's with talent. Randolph knew exactly what he wanted to do and where he wanted to go on every possession against Tristan. Totally exploited him but ssshhhh.

What James Johnson did to Bennett has zero bearing on how he would have guarded Randolph. James Johnson is a slashing wing. He would have blown by Thompson just as easily. He was blowing by Deng in Cleveland just as easily. Tristan was too weak to bang with Randolph, which is why he had to back off of his jumper. Strength is one advantage I know you can't dispute that Bennett has over Thompson.

I've heard of one way players. But is it possible that Jack is a negative two way player????

Ok so I guess it doesn't matter if you watch the games or not, you wouldn't know what you are watching anyway. I will leave you to watch in bliss.

... Tristan has a hard time on the defensive side of the court? Are you fucking kidding me? Let's not judge him by one game against one of the better offensive PFs in the entire NBA when he's our best defensive big 9 out of 10 games.

Says the guy calling James Johnson a small forward...

It was like a 5 point game with 3 minutes left. No one gave up.

I don't think Bennett is somehow a Randolph-stopper, but I agree that Brown needed to find productive minutes from the bench in order to win tonight, similar to what he got from them in the second half against OKC. I had more of a problem with him not trying to salvage things when Memphis went on the huge 3rd-quarter run. I don't know if he could have found an answer (Memphis had five guys who played really well) but that seems like a lost opportunity.

In the end, the Cavs lost a game to a strong Western Conference team on the road when they couldn't sustain their effort for both halves. Not enough talent on the floor, not enough stamina. They need to win some of these rough games, and they'll have their chance again very soon.

James Johnson blew past Deng last game. Very odd comparing defense against him versus any typical PF let alone a bruiser like Zach.

Anyways thought Jacks defense cost us more then anything. Thought the guys including Zeller contested Randolph jumper Ok but he hit them anyway

That's exactly what I'm judging him by because those are the types of guys he's going to have to deal with come playoff time. He'll put a body up in most situations and that's good enough but will he succeed when it counts? I think there's room for improvement. This board riots over Tristan opinions. You'd think he's the next Olajuwon.

James Johnson btw has been pretty good this year.

Good for him, because he was close to being out of the league for good. He's found a niche in Memphis.

I mean if I'm blaming one guy's defense, I'd say Jack. Think it was more of just being tired and not having enough talent.

But Jack does appear to have been infected with the disease Kyrie had the last two season. Getting stuck like glue on every screen.
