Shouldering the Load.

LeBron James showed the world what it means to be the MVP of the league tonight. Down 17 at the time (-19 a little later) with his team playing like garbage, he grabbed his teammates into the huddle and told them it was time to get to work. And get to work they did. The Cavaliers outscored the Clippers 35 to 14 in the fourth quarter to mount a monumental comeback. Here are some special, LeBron James notables:

- LeBron James recorded his 22nd career triple-double with 32 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Amazingly, this marks the third time in his career that he has recorded a triple-double in back-to-back games, with the other two times coming on back-to-back nights.

- A remarkable 12 of LeBron's career 22 triple-doubles have now come in just the last two seasons (07-08/08-09).

- This marks only the third time in LeBron's career that he has attempted 6 or more three pointers, yet failed to hit one. The Cavs are now 2-1 in such games, as LeBron averages an absurd 30.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 9.0 assists in these games despite the poor three point shooting.

- Tonight was the third time that LeBron James has had a 30 point triple double with 2 or more steals and blocked shots. Furthermore, tonight was the first time he had two or more steals and blocks in a game since his January heroics in Golden State. Playing in close games against bad west coast teams must make LeBron feel the need to elevate all of his game.

- Lastly, LeBron truly outdid himself tonight against a team that, believe it or not, he hasn't had great success against. LeBron recorded career highs against the Clippers for points (32), rebounds (13), and blocks (2). He also tied career highs for assists (11) and made field goals (10) versus the Clippers.

The LeBron-led Cleveland Cavaliers have now won their last six straight games against the Los Angeles Clippers, dating back to the 2006-07 season. Here are some trends from those six games versus the Clippers:

- LeBron James (6 games): 24.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.5 steals.

- Zydrunas Ilgauskas (6 games): 19.8 points and 10.3 rebounds on 52-89 (58.4%) shooting.

- Mo Williams (2 games): 18.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds on 7-14 (50%) from three.

- Anderson Varejao (4 games): 5.6 points and 8.8 rebounds.

- Cleveland Cavaliers (6 games): 99.7 points and 46.0 rebounds per game.

- Los Angeles Clippers (6 games): 87.7 points and 38.2 rebounds per game, getting outrebounded in every game.

Ruby Tuesday.

Tonight was no ordinary Tuesday for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In fact, I think the team may have boycotted the Tuesday night, showing up for the game at 12:00 AM EST on Wednesday. Regardless, here are some of the special events that transpired late Tuesday night:

- With their win tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers have matched their most wins in a season (50) since the 1992-93 season. One more win gives Mike Brown, LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and company their most wins in a season for their career. Furthermore, even if the Cavaliers manage to win only 8 of their remaining 19 games, they will still set a franchise record for most wins in Cavaliers history.

- The Cavaliers recorded their best fourth quarter win of the season, overpowering the Clippers 35-14 in the final frame (+21 points). This biggest fourth quarter win prior to tonight came at Detroit on the first of February (+18 points; 32-14). The Cavs have won five out of their last six fourth quarters, with the lone loss coming in Boston, marking the only game that they lost as well. They are averaging 26.7 points to their opponent's 20.2 points in the fourth quarter over these six games.

- With tonight's win, the Cavaliers improve to 10-3 in games played on Tuesday night. Here are some of the stats from games played on Tuesdays this season:

Cleveland Cavaliers: 101.0 points per game, Opponent: 91.7 points per game.

LeBron James (13 games): 30.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.

Mo Williams (13 games): 16.9 points and 5.2 assists.

Boobie Gibson (13 games): 9.1 points on 25-59 (42.4%) from three.

- Also worth noting on this fine Tuesday night, Anderson Varejao grabbed double-digit rebounds (10) for the first time since February 18th vs. Phoenix.

- Finally, after tonight the Cavs improved to 20-4 against Western Conference teams on the season. Their most wins against teams in the West in the LeBron James era prior to tonight was 19 in the 2006-07 season, when Cleveland made a trip to the Finals (19-11 record vs. WC).

How We've Been without Ben.

Since the Houston game, in which the team lost Ben Wallace, the Cavaliers have been a solid 6-1. While the interior defense has been somewhat soft in some games, the team has done a fairly good job adjusting to the loss of their low-post defensive centerpiece. Here is a look at how the Cavaliers faired in their five games without Ben Wallace last season compared to their ten without him so far this season:

2007-08:

- Record: 2-3.

- Cleveland Cavaliers: 101.0 points and 46.6 rebounds per game on 191-417 (45.8%) shooting.

- Opponent: 102.8 points and 36.6 rebounds per game on 195-400 (48.8%) shooting.

- Cavs: 6.2 steals per game compared to their opponent's 7.4 steals per game.

2008-09:

- Record: 8-2.

- Cleveland Cavaliers: 95.1 points and 41.7 rebounds per game on 343-742 (46.2%) shooting.

- Opponent: 88.8 points and 39.3 rebounds per game on 340-792 (42.9%) shooting.

- Cavs: 7.9 steals per game compared to their opponent's 7.2 steals per game (8.4 to 7.0 over last seven games since Ben's broken leg).

While the Cavaliers maintained a greater rebounds per game average and held their opponents to fewer rebounds in the five games without Ben last season, the defense couldn't hold their opponent to under 100 points per game. This year, by contrast, the team has held their opponents to only 88.8 points per game in ten games without Ben and have also held the other team to sub 43% field goal shooting. Ultimately, the most important stat may be the 8-2 record in games without Ben this season, a true testament to the Cavaliers' resiliency this season.

View from the other side:

- Clippers forward Zach Randolph tied a season-high tonight with 6 assists. With 20 points and 12 rebounds he's had a double-double in five of his last six games and in seven of his last nine. Randolph also attempted four three pointers, including the Cavs game winner.

- Eric Gordon and Al Thornton wrapped up the season series against Cleveland as the only two players to start both games for the Clippers. Gordon averaged 20.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, while Thornton averaged 17.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, respectively.
