Game 7: Cavs @ Thunder November 11, 7:00 pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Unfortunately firing a coach and FO is not going to solve any problems here

Grant said he doesn't want them to get an 8th seed then be out the next season. People thought it meant "we need to tank one more time."

This team, at worst, with a proper front office and head coach in place, is a 5th seed.

And be like the Atlanta Hawks?

Listen, it's impossible for a team like the Cavaliers to win the championship. I think we all agree that the league is rigged towards big market teams. We could have jesus and buddah on this team and still not win it all. I will take consistent playoff appearances year after year though. You bet your sweet ass I would. There is simply nothing like that atmosphere.

They have? When? If they have openly admitted that they are up for tanking, then it's truly worse than I thought. Chris Grant needs to go then too if that's the case.

Pyro, we've been through this..

We don't have the pieces to contend now, or even reasonably soon. We're at least 2 full seasons away from contention and that's even if the Heat breakup. And lastly, it should be noted that we won't get much in the way of completing our team via free agency. I think we're holding back from any major signings or moves this year because we expect to draft high again, hopefully Top 5.

All of this spells out a rebuild through the draft. We can't rebuild through the draft by going .500... Again, just think back to the last draft that was only a few months ago. Think of how much we really needed to be only 1 slot higher to secure either Beal or Gilchrist. Nobody saw the Waiters pick coming, and even if he does turn out to be better than Beal or MKG, which is still to be determined, it's always advantageous to have a higher pick. Who cares about losing to the Thunder during the second year of your rebuild?

What's more important is the Cavs gave Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook a run for their money for 3 quarters of the game. If we deliberately tanked the game, I'm personally glad we had the foresight to better prepare our team for the upcoming draft.

p.s.
If Waiters pans out, Chris Grant will be labelled a genius.

What? What parallels? One guy is the greatest athlete to ever play the game of basketball. The other guy is a really nice rookie who has a quick first step and a nice jump shot (something LeBron didn't have). What exactly is the parallel?

And even if they played the game the exact same way, what difference does that make? LeBron James is a freak who never, ever gets hurt despite playing 40 minutes a night for his entire career while carrying a whole team for 7 years of that career. Dion Waiters is not and will never be that.

Did you just call Kyrie one guy is the greatest athlete to ever play the game of basketball?

........just gotta ignore the rest of your posts, I guess. I mean, no one can actually think this. So you're obviously trolling, which is what you do half the time you post.

Why is it that people on this board think that the coach needs to explain everything decision that he makes to the public. Some things are better kept in house. When dealing with a young player it is better to have a behind the scene convo with him about what is going on rather than putting him on blast to the media. I get people are upset about the losing, but at the same time the same people are saying we need to not make the playoffs so we get a better draft pick, or lets trade andy for assets. WTF do you people want. We cant have a little bit of everything, the team obviously has a plan in place and the employees of this team are following the plan that is in place. We need to sit back and be excited for what the future holds for this team because I am very excited for some of the pieces we already have.

Cavs just dont have the depth/bench to compete and beat these deep Playoff/Championship Caliber teams. It's going to take some time.

Just like last year, I'm sure we have close to the most D-League Talent on our Roster compared to other teams.

Gotta live though it, and Enjoy the Kyrie Dion backcourt blossoming.
