Game 8: Jazz @ Cavs, Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 7:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone who says they don't care about the regular season is straight lying. Every moment with this team is a joy, playoff games or not. Cavs had this game in the bag and put themselves under pressure, gifting the ball away on too many occasions. But then to turn around and drop 118 points on a team defense giving up 80 points a night is just a tremendous effort.

I don't know about you guys, but each day we get to watch this team continues to be exciting. Embrace it; don't sit around waiting for the playoffs. The playoffs will come in due time, but while we wait, let's enjoy watching this team evolve into the dominant, long-term force it is going to become.
Agreed. Regular season matters for establishing a winning mentality, confidence, and learning your opponents. The main difference between playoffs/regular season are things like how to approach injuries, and minute restrictions. Don't want to rush someone like Kyrie back in for regular season games. If it were playoffs, he'd probably be playing right now. Also don't want to play your starters too many minutes a la Popovich. I think LeBron went over his normal minutes tonight at about 38. I think lately he's been playing like 35-36, but they really wanted this win.

Stats aside, that was an entertaining game to watch. I know we all expect this team to blow out the likes of Utah, but any team can beat any other in this league and this game was an early nail biter and I dug that.

I want to see this team ugly at times, it builds character and I felt they took a step in the right direction in tonight's contest. Of course, LBJ helps but Mo was damn near perfect and Love showed up.

On a side note, NBA LP tv for Uverse will cut off a recording when a game is over. It usually is around 2 hours and 30 min max but the recording had 2 hours and 50 minutes. My ocd kept saying that doesn't indicate OT or the outcome of the game. I wasn't wrong, that game was won in regulation it just took a lot longer than normal with how close it was. I need to get over this shit.

Exactly how I feel. Don't know what you got until it's gone.

Mo didn't miss a shot until the 4th quarter. Man was on fire. Lebron with a few huge defensive plays in the 4th quarter too. Awesome game.

I'm not expecting them to blow out every team.
Every team will give the Cavs their best shot..but to see them take down every WC team is appealing to me also.
What I see is the cohesion they have this year compared to last year.
That's tells me they are all in ..
I am keeping an eye on GS..they are playing with a chip on their shoulder ..

This victory shouldn't be taken for granted.

Utah is right now probably the 6th best team in the west, behind the big5 (GS, OKC, SA, LAC, Houston). They are probably a better team than Memphis. Gobert + Favors > Gasol + Randolph right now, IMO. And they have better complementary shooting players.

Burke isn't good enough to start in this league, but he's a pretty good backup. Hood is solid, Hayward will never be a superstar but he's a great 2nd or 3rd option. Burks is talented and can become a 20 pt SG, as he was expected to be 2 years ago.

If that kid Exum pans out into a great player, Jazz will be a great force to be reckoned with for many years to come in the NBA. They will be a contender in 3 years of something if this core remains and guys can develop, specially Burks and Exum.

But as of today, Jazz is a borderline top 10 NBA team IMO and they are a tough team to beat. Great victory, despite the poor defending.

we better figure out how to beat the jazz before we say we can beat the warriors
Update?

And you may not have noticed but both of our starting guards aren't currently playing, but should be when the play offs start.
Missing 40% of your starters and cutting into the bench depth becasue you know 40% of your starters are out usually makes it harder to win.
Oh wait look, the Cavs still won.

The turnovers are very concerning win or lose this game. All season we have turned it over a lot
The Cavs rank 10th in fewest TO's per game at 13.8.
Golden State is 13th at 16.4.

There are 3 teams that made the play offs last year that have fewer TO's per game than the Cavs this year.
Dallas
Memphis
LA Clippers

I seriously wouldn't mind Cooley right now, Kaun isn't really getting any minutes.

I was at the game last night. The crowd seemed almost bored for the first half, and then from about 5 min into the 3rd through the end of the game, turned into one of the best regular season crowds I've seen.

Also, I know we already know it cause it's been talked about, but most NBA people of note on Twitter were blown away by the result last night. A lot of "The Cavs put up 118 on the Jazz!!?“ The Vegas over under BTW on that game was 187. Which is INSANELY low. The Cavs outperformed their projection by almost 22 points. That's how good people see the Jazz to be defensively.

Rumor has it that Mo is still at the free throw line.

But seriously, we put up 118 without Kyrie, arguably our best scorer.
