Game Thread | Game #58 | Cavs @ Pelicans | Feb. 10, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How long should we wait for this dude to get healthy? Is there no limit?

We should only cut Windler if there are 2 players cut that we can pick up.

That said, does a healthy Windler even make the rotation right now?

Honestly I don't see us winning this game. We've looked great over this four game win streak but it's been against very bad teams. NO is highly motivated because they need to turn it around to make the playoffs, playing at home, and have new offensive firepower with Richardson added and Ingram back from injury.

It could go either way, but I'm leaning toward the Pelis as well. They're 20-9 at home and Ingram and Richardson give them a lot more firepower than they had in the last game.

OTOH, they're 12-15 without Zion Williamson and in the first game Garland tore them up for 30 points and 11 assists. Mitchell only played 22 minutes and was 3-for-9. Wade is back. The Cavs should be a better team than they were in the last game. Both teams will be better.

The Cavs will need to get to the rim consistently to exploit the Pelicans' weak interior defense while containing Ingram and CJ McCollum and keeping Vala from dominating the offensive glass.

I had this comment after the Cavs beat them earlier:

Allen had one of his best, if not THE best game of the year with 24 points on only 12 shots, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block while working against Valanciunas...Mobley in particular played very well with 19 points on just 10 shots, 8 rebounds, and numerous shots altered.

If Allen, Mobley, and Garland play well again and Mitchell has a good game I suppose the Cavs have a good shot at getting out with a W. Okoro needs to play great defense on McCollum and Mobley needs to keep Ingram from going off.

I think the Pelicans' length will be a problem. McCollum is 6'3", but the rest of the starters are 6'7", 6'7", 6'8", and 6'11". They have some tall guys coming off the bench, too.

Game will go into overtime tied at 69-69. In the OT period, it'll be Pelicans: 6, Cavs: 9.

Cavs win 78-75.
I’ll bet you a 69 this doesn’t happen. First person to 6, 9s.

You sound more like a Peli-can't.

I’m fairly surprised that the Cavs are 3 point favorites
