Game Thread | Game #60 | Spurs @ Cavs | Feb. 13, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Better or worse? I loves me some Spida, but it took giving up the Markk-god, the Sex-god, and the Agbaj-god!
We did give up talent but none of those three can do with DM can do.
DM will be the reason we can beat the bucks or Celtics in the playoffs. He can score 50 if he has too
He gives us a shot

Darius end of game is lacking, Last year we blamed overloaded in offense initiation. Is his shot selection to difficult? Still being young? Not elite athlete? He not the closer Dm is. Hope he can learn to play within him self in the playoffs.

I was really happy to see this quote from Mitchell after the game:

Tonight was a lapse. We played a team to their record and how they’ve been playing. That can’t happen...we can’t really play around and we kind of came in here just kind of expecting things to just kind of go well and they did, because we’re talented, but then at the end of the day that’s how you fall into being up four in the fourth quarter. We get out to a great start and then we just kind of say, ‘Alright, it’s in the bag.’ That’s not what a great team does. We have to continue to play to our standard every night.

This was almost exactly what he said after the Cavs got beat by these guys (or some of them) in San Antonio.

Bickerstaff agreed.

We didn’t play to our standard. It was that simple. We didn’t do the things we needed to do at the level we’re used to doing them at. We got lucky to get away with a win.

When teams don't play up to their standard and win ugly against a bad, injury depleted team, it's great to see they recognize it and are not satisfied with the W.

Darius is fine. He is gifted but still learning and three years younger than Mitchell. He was a hot knife cutting butter when they ejected Mitchell in the Griz game.. But right now, we need Mitchell's competitiveness to get us over that line. IMHO this will become more pronounced in the playoffs when the opposition tries to target him. We need the progression of Garland, Mobley and Okoro to be able to handle that eventuality..

For the sake of this board, give it a rest on your never ending we gave up too much in the DM trade rants.
Give it a rest?
1. I’m mostly joking.
2. I haven’t said more than once or twice, and when I did, it was in jest.

I think you have me confused for another guy. I haven’t gone on and on about this.

Maybe cut back on the coffee, Dude.

My wife calls it passive aggressive when I do it

Analytics say: one of Garlands worst games of the year. But Mitchell made up for it. Mobley was subpar, but Allen made up for it. Okoro bad, but Rubio made up for it. Wade slightly posotive, but J B.......
