Game Thread | Game #60 | Spurs @ Cavs | Feb. 13, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Donovan Mitchell's highlights:

I kept waiting for the Cavs to pull away but they never did. Give the Spurs credit - they played with intensity for all 48 minutes.

The Cavs were in danger of choking it away when the Spurs pulled to within 4 points in the 4th with 9:16 to go. But the Cavs held them scoreless for the next 2:21 to push the lead back to 10 points and they hung on from there.

Mitchell was awesome with 41 points and 5 assists. He saved the game. Garland had 6 turnovers and was 0-for-4 from deep. It wasn't his best game but he did make a couple of big buckets down the stretch to hold off the Spurs. Allen and Mobley both had double-doubles and combined to block five shots.

I was very impressed with the rookie from Ohio State, Malaki Branham, who had 18 points on just 11 shots. Keldon Johnson was an offensive force with 25 points but was a -19 - worst on the team.

So the Cavs played just well enough to win when I think most of us expected a romp. Pops is not going to let his team roll over, even playing on the road having lost 12 straight. They fought hard but the Cavs had a little too much talent. The poor 3-point shooting by the Cavs (32%) helped the Spurs stay within striking distance.

Heat about to lose to Denver.

And Nets about to lose to the Knicks.
in all fairness Nets really arent in the picture anymore. they probably wont make the playoffs. and if they do ever top 4 seed will be positioning to play them
