Game Thread | Game #62 | Nuggets @ Cavs | Feb. 23, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I watch him every game and his defense is the same. He consistently loses his man on defense every game. Watch him tonight…not just when his man has the ball. When he’s off the ball and watch how his man moves away from him and because he doesn’t position himself right on the floor he loses sight of his man.

I do, and there are posters who are watching him in person while posting in these game threads who I respect their BBall knowledge say the exact opposite: an underrated defender. You don't have a #1 rated defense if you have a sieve starting.

Yeah you can….because you have two twin towers on the back end covering for his lack of focus!

Watch Trae Young this season on defense and compare it to DG. It's very apparent what bad defense looks like and DG's not that. He actually tries, has a desire to play defense, and is sneaky good at using verticality.

Oh compared to Trey Young Darius is Joe Dumars!!

Bickerstaff lamented the fact that they were so successful in the paint through the first three quarters and abandoned what was working for them down the stretch.

“(It’s) understanding where your strengths are versus your opponent that night. We had an advantage in the paint tonight,” Bickerstaff said. “We need to continue to attack the paint and put pressure on the game and make them have to make an adjustment before we kind of let them off the hook.”

I say Denver did make the adjustment and Cavs didn't.

Amazing how JBB never admits his own failings.
The scarier prospect is that he doesn't understand how Denver packing the paint impacted our ability to execute. Like, he didn't recognize it in real time as it was happening or just doesn't get that the opposing team has a say in how things work out.

I'm hopeful this is CYA stuff. A stubborn man can relent eventually. A blind man is far less likely to see.

Hey Ohioplayer, who's a better defender: Darius Garland or your boy KLove?
