Game Thread | Knicks playoff series Game #3 | Cavs @ Knicks | April 21, 2023 | 8:30 ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If i were Jarrett Allen I’d mail it in too. My guards are not about to just ignore me while they go 2/18. Pass me the god damn ball
He mailed in it two minutes in… he got embarrassed by Mitchell Robinson. It’s a lack of fight and not being soft. Natural ability only gets you so far, sometimes you have to fight and we never see it

Hell of a time to play like this. Here's to the next one.

Fedor kept alluding to the fact that some people in the FO were hoping and wanting the Nets to get the fifth as they were dropping post Irving trade. It looks like they either weren't as confident in the team as they should have been, or they knew something we didn't. Ain't no rational reason that we aren't better than this Knicks team talent wise.

The Knicks are deeper...and that's a problem for the Cavs. And if they lose because their starters are gassed/off and their bench isn't producing (game 1), then I get it.

But when the starters get manhandled too, I really don't understand. No excuse.

First 20-point loss of the season. The Cavs were obviously tight with the whole MSG thing and the celebrities. They couldn't hit a shot in the first half, even missing free throws. They finished the game at 21% on 3's and 59% at the foul line. They were really tight.

Garland may have had the worst game of his career at 4-for-21 with 3 assists and 3 turnovers. The Cavs were outscored 28-8 on points off turnovers which matches the margin of defeat exactly.

I was hoping they would stop shooting 3's in the first half but the Knicks packed the paint and Robinson is tough to shoot over so the Cavs had to take those 3's. Cedi has made just one of his last nine 3's.

Hopefully with this experience out of the way the environment won't be so intimidating the next game and the Cavs can hit some shots in the first half.

Robinson was pushing Allen around and had five offensive boards. He outplayed Allen, who was held to six points and (incredibly) only five rebounds. Mobley had 10 and 10 and was largely responsible for Randle going 3-for-15 from the field.

Had the Cavs gone 14-for-33 from deep they would have had 21 more points and this game comes down to the last shot. They started to hit a few in the second half, going 5-for-14, an improvement over the 2-for-19 they had at halftime. But they were too nervous to shoot until settling down a little in the second half.

If we shot 14-33 from deep we would have won by double digits.

The level of bad that our offense was just put so much pressure on our defense pitch a shutout, and they played excellent defensively for the majority of the game.

can’t be understated how hard it is to keep a team at bay over and over to give yourself a chance while your offense, which was not even being defended well…this sure as shit ain’t the bad boy pistons over there defensively. We got, even with a ton of bad offense and going away from scheme stuff that got us such easy looks in gsme 2…we still managed to pretty much produce some quality looks relatively consistently.

We just straight up failed to make them

The way the Knicks were fouling and the refs were not calling it, the Cavs should've just forced their way into the paint instead of shooting 3's and forced the refs to start calling the fouls. That's what I felt. It was also frustrating to watch Robinson constantly out hustle Allen to get boards.

Allen was completely ignored. He had to have been pissed. It showed in his lack of effort. I don't blame him.
JA has no offensive game! He is strictly a lob, catch and dunk player! He is soft and light in the ass like Mobley. He can be bumped off his spot with the slightest contact!
He can’t even get rebounds because he allows people to move him far under the rim too easily. Then when he even goes to the FT line he misses freebies! JA needs to be shopped this summer for a consistent shooting 3 and D wing player! You can’t have two Charmin soft (JA and Mobley) big men on your front line and expect to win!
