Duhon is not just a "good" fit for the Cavaliers. He's actually a perfect fit for us. Solid defender at his position, a capable playmaker, and he knows how to stroke that 3. Since we obtained Eric Snow, we've always craved to "combine" him with the opposite PG.. be it McInnis or Damon Jones... to get the happy medium of a defender that can shoot. Duhon is that. Should we acquire him, there will be no more gripes.
Losing Gooden hurts.. but despite a strong start, he's continued to be inconsistent. Anderson Varejao coming back doesn't help his cause, as his 2nd half minutes are dwindling. I doubt we see Gooden as our future at the 4... he's just not the talent fit we need at that spot, we're actually detrimenting him by forcing him to play a different game.
It sucks to trade Gooden, not just because of his impact on the court, but off the court. He's a good guy, and is one of the few Cavaliers that puts hard work into community assistance. It's a very irreplacable trait...
But we have a logjam at the 4. We have a capable starter in Marshall - adds a perimeter threat to the starting 5... or even Anderson Varejao, who may be too raw for starter minutes, but I have always disagreed with this statement. I mean, even Pavlovic is starting now, the team is doing well, and nobody is complaining. He has had a couple tick-tack games with foul trouble, but nothing to the extreme. I would forsee a similar trend with AV.
