I am old, so I will go with Techmo Bowl II for the nintendo, it was the first video game that would keep your season stats. Bo Jackson and Barry sanders where unstoppable on it.

Yea I remember all the great games for that system..StarFox 64, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Golden Eye(my fav)..there were so many..

Maybe not the best of all time but definitely my favorites.

Nintendo: Super Mario 3. That friggin leaf was the greatest thing that happened to me when that game first came out.
Sega: Sonic or Streets of Rage
X Box: Halo, the first one. Never got into the others. I know, I know. I'm an asshole.
Playstation and everything else: Madden.

Madden is hands-down my favorite game. Every year it gets better and the AI is always good enough that it's a challenge to win for a while.
