Has anyone here actually met/interacted with Lebron?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've never personally met LeBron, but a few buddies have.

One of my buddies NEVER liked the guy. Used to bartend and said the guy was a major dick to everyone.

That said, I now a lot of people rip on Gloria but I have a relative who sees her often. He says she's the nicest person in the world, and she even gave him a tour of Bron's house.

Honestly, Bron didn't do anything wrong in that video. Those grown ass men need to get off their knees and stop asking another grown ass man to scribble his name on a piece of paper.

I honestly don't get this whole "autograph" thing. You're a man (or woman). Act like one.

The autograph hounds and memorabilia seekers are some of the biggest pains in the ass in the entire country, if not world.

I never got the bad tipper thing. Someone has to tell these guys that if you'll just tip like 20%, your entire life and reputation will be a lot better in the service industry you are going to have to deal with for your entire professional career. Just accept that and act on it. Guys like Tiger, Pete Sampras, etc are despised by so many in the hotel and restaurant industries and it's foolish on their part.

I used to live in Indianapolis, way back. Maybe like 1993 or so. I and my brother worked out at the facility where Pacers opponents would practice and work out in town (dont remember the name of the place).

Basically, most of the guys were cool if you just treated them straight-up like you would anyone else. Yes, there are always jerks. The real problem is when you start looking at these guys as big ATM machines. Like the autograph hounds. That's when they are mostly likely to blow you off or refuse to talk with you. They can see it coming.

Everybody wants to talk to these guys everywhere. You can't escape it. Everyone is their best buddy, everybody has a jersey to sign and everyone wants to talk about "the play" from last week. It's draining.

None of these guys tip... A really close friend of mine use to do a lot of their after parties at places like The View a few years back and these guys would never tip the bar tenders... What can you expect athletes live in a different world...

A lot of my friends who bar tend in the LES in NYC claim hockey, baseball and rock stars are the best tippers...

Don't hear too many positive things about football and basketball players...

I lived in Hudson during the Mark Price era. That is also where Mark Price lived. He would always roder food for delivery to his home during bad weather. Never tipped, even when someone came out in a blizzard.

what i don't get is that i have heard lebron and other guys like mj run up huge tabs, sometimes in excess of 500, even a grand. isn't there like an automatic tip that gets put on there, similiar to how if your party exceeds 5 it's an automatic tip.

i worked in the restaurant business when i was a kid, so i kinda know how it works, however, i have never worked in a place where a celebrity would come in and run up a huge bill.

I know that girl in your avatar. Or, used to know. Haven't talked with her in forever. Kelly. Awesome girl and a truly kind person. Also hot as hell, obviously.

I had floor seats for a game and got to go to the back where players sign autographs. And somebody called LeBron's mom Gloria so she went off on the guy and started yelling at the guy because he called her Gloria. I went to that area 3 times and LeBron signed one time for me. The guard said I was lucky because he rarely signs. Boobie is by far the nicest person on the team. There will be bunch of people and he makes sure he signs every autograph and take pictures and talk to everybody.

Met him a time or two...im 90% sure that if any of us here went from High School broke ass kid to superstar overnight, having a league in the palm of your hands you would be a little bit of a D-Bag as well. He's always having fun and joking around, but I would have to say in that entire locker room Z and guys like JJ, AP, and Mo have to be the nicest guys there. JJ seriously acts like he's 11 years old half the time but I hope that changes

lol.

I have had a few personal interactions with Lebron each one got progressively worse as he got older: I did a job shadow with the Cavs Video department on a game night vs. the Bobcats. Basically it was Lebron's first game winning shot. Anyway, in the tunnel after the game Lebron was pretty pumped up as was everyone, he totally ignored everyone, including Cavs employees, and immediately found one of the guys from his crew, and jumped into his arms. Best part was, I think he thought I was a ball boy so he tossed his gatorade towel to me.

I also was an observer while the video dept filmed some promos and stuff before the 06-07 season. He was by far the biggest pain in the ass. He would take the script of what he was supposed to say, hand it off to Mav. Get it Mav approved, or changed. Begrudgingly say the promo a few times. Then a light switch would go off, and he'd develop a personality and do what he was supposed to do. It was strange to say the least.

The most recent came last summer at a certain establishment downtown on W. 6th St. that rhymes with Schmarley Mouse. I had reserved (with cash deposits) VIP for my birthday and the night after. The first night, there was no issue what so ever. The next night we all came back ready for a great night. About 11:30 the staff started to circle us and eventually we were asked to move out of VIP. Naturally we protested, but eventually LBJ, Andy, and their crews walked in. Now I was pissed, confronted management, and eventually got to LBJ's crew and got in a bit of a shouting match about everything. I told them that I paid to be there, but we both wanted to use it that would be cool with me. LBJ "You trippin, no way am I partying with you and yo crew." Eventually I got one of my female friends to get Andy's attention. She explained it, and Andy bought us a bottle for our troubles but said "We can't not be in the VIP" In the mean time one of my friends who was an employee (there with me on his day off) told Lebron to get the f*ck out and told security to take him away.

End of the day. We got our VIP stolen. My friend lost his job. Never got a refund from the establishment. All because of Lebron.

I wonder what Delonte called her?

Lucky guy. I just found the pic on the net. I did notice that she had modeled similar shirts for other pro and college teams.

My brother who is a Cleveland police officer was just telling me how LeBron never tipped at bar's, and how his partner threw LeBron out of a bar once when it was closing. The bar was closing, but LeBron thought he could stay anyways. Needless to say, he fought the law, and the law won. :chuckles:

Person at my mom's work had floor seats and she brought her friend from Orlando. Mo's family and friends were behind them and Savannah went and talked to his family. Savannah was staring at the girl from Orlando the whole time then Savannah finally asked her where she got her boobs done. Then Savannah was saying how all the doctors in Cleveland were stupid etc...

Damn this is an awesome thread. I am glad that I started it.

I wonder what kind of experiences people have had with other plauyers on the team.

I've interacted with him and watched him interact with others up close 100's of times. Just like when he's on the court, Lebron has multiple "modes" off the court....most of them I have to admit are very likable. Watching him interact with his teammates, playing his kids, or even the way he interacted with my kids, was great. When he's being one of the guys at a restaurant, playing cards or just chilling he's great too. The mode I've never cared for is what I call - "sunglass mode". When he walks out of the locker room, hotel or restaurant to the crowds and cameras, he changes. When he's around Jay-Z or someone else he deems significant, he changes. The chest sticks out, the head gets a little higher, he struts a little more and he acts cocky and arrogant. He'll blow people off that he'd normally talk to if the setting was different.

I've been at restaurants at another table after games and he's picked up the tab...so he has never come off as cheap to me. No idea what he tips.

One of the biggest problems I had with him was the LeBrontourage. The demands for parking spots in the Q garage was ridiculous...I'm talking a lot of them. They came at the expense of a lot of people that deserved them much more who were forced to park in public lots. Sad thing is that some of them would end up going unused for a lot of games. Their behavior in the family lounge, last minute requests for front row tickets, suites, etc was ridiculous. Paying ticket holders would be forced to move at the last minute. The LeBrontourage never cared who they were inconveniencing. Every year they just demanded more and more special treatment. When was enough, enough? Never. Not all of it was Lebron's fault. A lot of it was Gloria and then rest of the entourage thinking they were entitled to unlimited perks.

LRMR's biggest problem I think is immaturity. Everyone forgets that he is only 25. They got high on their own power and forgot about the negative impact that can have. The other night was the ultimate mistake. I don't have a problem with him choosing to leave. But to think that anyone would benefit from a one hour prime time show to announce he was leaving Cleveland was asinine. I'm sure they regretted it before it even started. Players around the league thought it was stupid, HIS TEAMMATES thought it was stupid, the league thought it was stupid, his sponsors thought it was stupid, most fans thought it was stupid. It was an immature mistake I no doubt think they regret. They are pretty sharp guys and I think they will learn from it as they mature. With time they will hopefully understand the importance of class, decency and realize that their actions have a huge trickle down effect on others...often negative.

I could say a lot more, but I think you get the general idea.

Damn, that is messed up. The people that I hate most outside of spoiled asshole celebs, is those who let these assholes get away with this kind of shit.
