It's pretty clear that some writers wanted to punish Alomar for the Hirschbeck spitting incident. There is no way anyone can justify keeping him out of the Hall on his merits as a players. As for the Hawk, it is getting so hard to judge guys from that era. Unfortunately, steriods skewed so many numbers that the statistically are far more inferior than they should be.
