A late "frustration foul" by Cleveland's LeBron James kept Ron Artest out of the Indiana Pacers' lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta with a right wrist contusion.
James, who was harassed into a 6-for-20 shooting night by Artest, fouled Artest hard in the third quarter of Thursday's game at Conseco Fieldhouse. Artest stayed in the game and finished with 21 points.
"He came down hard, very hard," Artest said. "It was definitely a frustration foul because he didn't go after the ball. Anybody that goes after the ball, the ball is not going to come out (of) my hand. The only way he could really stop me is by going after my wrist.
"The referee made a good call because LeBron said it was no foul. He damn near broke my hand."
X-rays on Artest's wrist were negative, but he's scheduled to undergo an MRI this morning.
"As long as the MRI's OK, I'll definitely play on Sunday (in Los Angeles against the Clippers)," Artest said after Friday's 87-85 loss.
Note to Lebron: Do it in the 1st quarter next time! :chuckles:
