Game Number 76
VS
Miami Heat (40-34)
Thursday, April 5th, 2007
7:00pm ET
Radio : WTAM 1100
Television: TNT
Quicken Loans Arena- Cleveland, OH
Head Coaches
Mike Brown / Pat Riley
Probable Starters
Larry Hughes / Jason "White Chocolate" Williams
Sasha Pavlovic / Eddie Jones
LeBron James / Jason Kapono
Drew Gooden / Udonis Haslem
Zydrunas Ilgauskas / Shaquille O'Neal
Cavs Bench
Anderson Varejao / Donyell Marshall / Daniel "Boobie" Gibson / Eric Snow / Ira Newble
Heat Bench
James Posey / Antoine Walker / Alonzo Mourning / Gary Payton
Miami Notes
* Jason Kapono should reclaim the starting SF gig from James Posey, who has been playing well but shooting terribly.
* It's possible but unlikely Dwayne Wade could return.
* Miami, though less threatening, has turned into a more balanced team since Eddie Jones took over for the injured Wade. Jones shot an astounding 46.2 FG% in March, pretty solid for a fill-in player. The biggest difference is Jones doesn't get to the line often, forcing the team to find other scoring options.
Cleveland Key Points
* Lebron is back in the flow after missing 1 game with "knee tendintis".
* Gooden has been going through some impressive hot streaks, hopefully he'll keep his jumper going, because it will be hard to post up or get his tip-ins against Shaq.
* Sasha needs to continue to shoot high-percentage shots, because most of Larry's shots are smoke screens thrown up only to keep the other team off balance. Sasha also needs to step up the rebounding. His rebounding totals over the last 5 games are 0, 2, 4, 7, 1. Unacceptable.
* Gibson's jumper continues to round back into shape. Hopefully this will keep Damon Jones on the bench.
Mike Brown Gameplan Keys
- Use Z to draw fouls on Shaq like usual. This always seems to work for some reason.
- Don't be afraid to use Pollard's 6 fouls on Shaq, but don't go to him unless Shaq is just abusing Z and Andy.
- Keep Snow under 15 minutes. Keep Ira on the bench.
- Keep Larry passing first, shooting second.
