Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

I am 100% sure that there will be no 1st round lotto picks traded next year. None.

You were all wishing on a star. That was never going to happen.

IMO, I bet we trade the Kings pick before we even use it.

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

I remember a lot of people on this board having a hard on for Cassipi earlier in the year. Considering we drafted Thompson, and with JJ's likely salary demands I don't see how this isn't a great deal for us. We get a 1st round pick that we will be very thankful for later down the road, and lessen the log jam of Pf's for a starting Sf, our weakest position. I haven't watched a lot of Cassipi, but from what I've seen he looks like he is starter quality, young, and can improve. What am I missing?

Your avatar would be awesome if that was Casspi getting dunked on by Hickson

The Cavs' new first round pick is lottery protected next year, then goes down to top-10 protected in 2013 and declines from there...

hmm i don't like it. Sacramento has a pretty nice young core in place the chances are good they won't stink in 2 or 3 years

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

From the PD:

In addition, the draft pick from Sacramento could be a late lottery pick if the team doesn't turn things around. It likely would be top-10 protected, so the Kings wouldn't send it to the Cavs until they're drafting 11th or lower in the first round.

Either dumbshit McGee broke some news or she has a real convoluted, fucked up way of presenting information

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

Some of you were being unrealistic. No way Hickson nets us an unprotected lottery pick, especially since teams saw what happened to the pick the Clipps gave us...

This..sure we want the frosting on the cake. From what happened with the Clippers everyone saw the explosion that occured from getting that ..why would the Kings after seeing that repeat the process again and perhaps look like fools?
I'm suprised that we were discussing aquiring Casspi yesterday and now BAM!!

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

hmm i'm not sure about this deal

Declines to WHAT? It better be unprotected in 2014, not that I should care. Like someone said, I may not even be fucking alive by then.

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

Blast me for this

Didnt like draft night

Dont like this trade. (because of the protections)

2012 lottery protected does not work for me. There were/are other teams interested in Hickson other than Sac. Omri Casspi can be pretty good, but as it is right now, he is not of Hicksons caliber of asset nor player.

I cant shake the feeling that once locked in on a target, this FO is in tunnel vision mode.
Yep. When Grant talked about targeting Thompson since HS this was the first thing that popped into my head. They were supposedly interested in Casspi a year ago too, so the possibility of tunnel vision is coming up again:(

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

caspi is a scrub

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

Just like on draft night, Ford is rolling with me

Younger - by two months, cool.

Bigger - well, no shyt, he plays different position. Btw, Casspi is 6-9

Higher PER - oh, ok...

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

My biggest worry is Casspi, didn't get to see much of him really, except when he played the Cavs. Like usual he seemed to torch us like all other teams have that one player.. :chuckles:

BUT, I wanna know from someone who has seen the guy play often, is he good defensively? Because I know he'll be a shooter for us on the wing. I just want to know how he is defensively.

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

Let's say:

2012: Lotto protected
2013: top 6 protected
2014: Unprotected

Does that perk your ears a bit more? or are you still rollin' blunts for errr I mean with Ford :chuckles:

Re: Cavaliers on verge of Hickson for Casspi

I was alright with the Draft Picks. But this trade feels like we are losing a player rather than gaining.

I am ok with not liking what the FO is doing, as long as it produces in the end. I don't know how long the leash is to start wining. Also, if JJ unleashes hell in Sacramento, I would hate to see these boards.
