Not only that, but OSU was quite lucky that season (including in the Fiesta Bowl itself). I guess it's good that the (easily) better team doesn't always win....k 2002 was 8 years ago and since then we have been blown out relentlessly in big games.
For how many more years is the 2002 fiesta bowl going to be used as an excuse for poor coaching?
The offense might be easier to prepare for, but the players are not. USC is absolutely stacked on offense, though their QB is a possible weak spot. Still, regardless of the offense they run, USC is certainly not an easy team to prepare for (tho the Johnson injury helps a bit). Even if Barkley struggles, USC could still win by rushing and rushing and rushing again. You think those guys last week weren't looking ahead to next week? We have a young team and they defiantly were. OSU got caught over-looking Navy is a lot better than the rep they get. OSU will not be looking at the same type of offense either. A regular offense is much easier to prepare for than the triple option, especially for a big ten team like Ohio State.
USC has to travel to Ohio State. Even though Ohio State has had trouble in big game in the past, all of those game were techincally road games. The 2008 national championship was literally in LSU's backyard. Last year, Ohio State had to travel to USC. With the exception of last year Penn St. game, Ohio State has been on the road in nearly every big game.
USC will have to travel to the horseshoe, where the largest OSU crowd will defiantly be waiting. A true freshman QB will have to play in arguably the hardest stadium in the country. Ohio State lost a lot of starters last year, but they kept Terrell Pryor. Pryor, unlike many past OSU players, has the ta;ent to single handedly take over a game. Without that USC line-backing core from last year, I like OSU's chances. Don't forget, OSU showed up last year and nearly beat Texas in the fiesta bowl.
OSU has some major impact players on this team still including Kurt Coleman, Thaddeus Gibson, and of course Terrell Pryor. I like OSU to break the streak and win this game 30-24.
While you are mostly correct, I still think USC would have rolled if they played @OSU last season.
